Welcoming the Prime Minister and his delegation at the airport were representatives of the US Department of State, US Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osisus, Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Pham Quang Vinh, embassy staff and overseas Vietnamese.

In Washington, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will hold talks with President Donald Trump; receive a number of US officials and corporations; attend a dialogue with the US Chamber of Commerce and the US-ASEAN Business Council; and attend a ceremony to hand over trade and investment agreements.

Previously, the Prime Minister had a number of activities in New York such as meeting with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, attending the ceremony to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Vietnam joining the United Nations, attending the roundtable discussion on Vietnam-US investment cooperation, receiving a number of Vietnamese-origin businessmen and intellectuals, receiving a number of US corporations, meeting and talking with officials and staff of the Vietnam Resident Mission to the United Nations.
