Coach Calisto drops Pacos de Ferreira, V-League eagerly anticipates future changes.

Coach Calisto has refused to renew his contract with Pacos de Ferreira after successfully helping the team avoid relegation in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.

Taking over when Pacos de Ferreira were bottom of the Liga Sagres table, coach Calisto overcame numerous difficulties to lead the team to a 10th-place finish in the 2011/2012 season.

This achievement captivated Pacos de Ferreira, who offered a contract extension. However, Coach Calisto declined because he was receiving very attractive offers from many places around the world. In a recent official statement, the former Vietnam national team coach confirmed that he and Pacos de Ferreira currently have no further obligations to each other.

Pacos de Ferreira also confirmed this and they are in the process of inviting former renowned Portuguese central defender Fernando Couto to replace the position left vacant by coach Calisto.

According to Tiago, the son and agent of coach Calisto, he is considering offers from East Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. This is good news for V-League clubs that had previously expressed interest in signing coach Calisto.

However, any club wishing to secure the signature of the tactician who led the Vietnamese national team to victory in the 2008 AFF Suzuki Cup will have to pay a considerable sum. Coach Calisto is well aware of his value and demands compensation commensurate with his reputation and work ethic.
