Coach Huu Thang is one of the first five coaches to be awarded Pro AFC certificates in Vietnam.
Huu Thang, Huynh Duc, Thanh Hung, Duc Thang and Minh Phuong are the first coaches of Vietnamese football to be granted the highest coaching certificate, able to practice even when working abroad.
The AFC Professional Coaching Diploma course ended on December 23, 2017. This is the highest-level coaching course in the AFC football coaching training system and was held for the first time in Vietnam.

After completing 4 semesters, students will need to pass exams to be awarded AFC Pro certificates. However, out of 17 Vietnamese students attending the course, only 5 coaches above scored enough points to pass and be awarded AFC Pro certificates.
These are also the first coaches of Vietnamese football to be granted the highest coaching certificate, able to practice even when working abroad.
According to new AFC regulations, coaches must have an AFC Pro certificate to be eligible to participate in tournaments organized by the Asian Football Confederation (both national team and club level).
