Indonesian Coach: We will surprise the Vietnamese team

On the evening of June 3, the Indonesian national team faced the Thai national team in Group G of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Asia. Despite being rated much lower than their opponents, the Indonesian national team under the leadership of coach Shin Tae Yong excellently held Thailand to a 2-2 draw.

This is the first point that Indonesia has won in Group G.World Cup 2022 Qualifiersafter 5 matches. In the next match, the Indonesian team will meet the Vietnamese team on June 7. Coach Shin Tae Yong said that the draw with Thailand is the motivation for Indonesia to confidently face coach Park Hang-seo and his team.

Thank you to the players for working hard on the field. We only have seven players with national team experience in the main squad," coach Shin Tae-yong opened the press conference.

He continued: "I want to praise the players for playing well against the Thai team. They don't have much experience, many of them are wearing the national team jersey for the first time. The players will play better in the next matches."

The coaching staff of the Vietnam national team can study and know how we play. However, I will make some adjustments in tactics and will definitely bring many surprises to the Vietnam national team in the next match," coach Shin Tae Yong added.

Drawing with Thailand, Indonesia got the first point, but still ranked last in Group G. Vietnam still leads with 11 points. UAE defeated Malaysia 4-0, rising to second with 9 points. The home team has the same points as Thailand and Malaysia, but has a better goal difference.

In the next match, Indonesia will meet Vietnam on June 7. Coach Shin Tae Yong said that the draw with Thailand is a motivation for Indonesia to confidently face Vietnam.
