Coach Kim Sang-sik: We will compete with the highest spirit
Coach Kim Sang-sik said that the Vietnamese team represents the country, so they will compete with the highest spirit against the Lao team.
On the evening of December 8, at the press conference beforeopening match of the Southeast Asian Championship, coach Kim Sang-sik of the Vietnamese team shared: "Before attending the press conference, I watched the opening match of the ASEAN Cup between Cambodia and Malaysia. The match was very exciting, so I feel excited to participate in this tournament for the first time. We had 10 days of training in Korea to improve the tactics as well as the skills of the players. I am very satisfied with what the players have shown in the past time".

Tomorrow's match is not just a football match, but also has a greater meaning of national spirit and national colors. We will fight for that. I know the Vietnamese community in Laos is very large and they will be present at the stadium tomorrow to cheer for the team. This brings great encouragement, motivating us to be determined to win to bring joy to domestic fans as well as compatriots living and working in Laos."
The Lao national team has made significant progress in recent times, most clearly demonstrated by the draw with Thailand at the recent FIFA Days. New coach Ha Hyeok Jun has brought a much more resilient, tight and effective playing style to the Lao players.

Speaking about his colleague, coach Kim Sang-sik shared: "I know the coach of the Laos team; we have met before in the K.League. I understand that he is good at going into specific details. We also studied the match where they drew with Thailand last month, thereby preparing and coming up with a suitable plan for tomorrow's match.
In that match, although Thailand did not have the best squad, Laos showed a lot of progress, built good tactics and had quality players. However, the Vietnamese team had just completed a training trip in Korea and was ready to confidently enter the match. The whole team will try their best to create the best performance.
Tomorrow's match is very important and so is the match after that with Indonesia. Indonesia is a strong team with young, fast and strong players. For me every match is important and we don't have any special plans for each match, we just try our best to achieve positive results."
The match between Laos and Vietnam will take place at 8:00 p.m. on December 9 at the Laos National Stadium./.
