Coach Kim Sang-sik: 'Striker Xuan Son will help the Vietnamese team beat Myanmar'
Coach Kim Sang-sik believes the appearance of naturalized player Nguyen Xuan Son will bring many positive things to the Vietnamese team, and at the same time, he is confident of defeating Myanmar.
At noon on December 20, the press conference before the match between Vietnam and Myanmar took place.
Coach Kim Sang-sik shared: “The match with Myanmar is very important, determining whether the Vietnamese team will win the group or not. The team is very confident and has prepared carefully. Although we are tired after the away match in the Philippines, we are looking forward to the match with the goal of achieving good results.”

Regarding Nguyen Xuan Son's participation, the Korean coach has special expectations: "First of all, the Vietnamese team is lucky to have Xuan Son. Tomorrow, he will have his first match with the team. Xuan Son has good physical and technical conditions. The coaching staff has high expectations for him, and hopes that Xuan Son will perform well and bring victory to the fans.
As I said, having Xuan Son is very good for the Vietnamese team. I hope he and Tien Linh can coordinate with each other, show their best performance, and bring efficiency and good effects to the team."

Speaking about the difficult draw against the Philippines, coach Kim Sang-sik said: “In the previous match, we used some new players, but the performance was not as expected. I put them on the roster and put my trust in them. Although the team did not win, we regained control of the game and got a draw. The positive thing is that I understand my players better.
In the match against the Philippines, at the beginning of the first half, the team played positively, but after Quang Hai's minor injury, the team had a few bad situations. In this match, I also made changes in personnel. The players learned many lessons. In tomorrow's match, Xuan Son will bring positivity. I believe the players will show the highest fighting spirit."
Assessing the situation of Group A, coach Kim Sang-sik said: “I watched the opponents in Group A on TV. Malaysia and Singapore both have a chance. But the important thing is tomorrow's match against Myanmar, and we are preparing for this match. Regarding the tournament, I am thinking about the final, but the important thing now is the physical condition of the players. The coaching staff will do their best to support the players to have the best performance.”
“At this time, Southeast Asian football has had big changes, changes in the formation of each team. I do not analyze them 100%, but certainly with the most carefulness. For me, it does not matter which team the Vietnamese team meets, but we are very confident and ready. Maybe some players think they can meet Malaysia, but they need to focus on tomorrow's match,” coach Kim Sang-sik concluded.
The match between Vietnam and Myanmar will take place at 8:00 p.m. on December 21 at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho)./.
