Coach Miura eliminated all "wounded soldiers" in Vietnam Olympic team
Cong Phuong, Tuan Anh, Huy Toan... and other prominent names were all included in the list for the U23 Asian qualifiers announced by coach Toshiya Miura this afternoon, March 19.
In preparation for the U23 Asian qualifiers, Coach Miura initially called up 30 players. Later, due to injuries, he called up three more players.
After the practice matches with Hanoi T&T (won 3-1), Dong Nai (1-1), and friendly matches with Olympic Indonesia (won 1-0), Olympic Uzbekistan (drawn 0-0), today the Japanese coach finalized the list of 23 players to go to the tournament at the end of March in Malaysia.

Accordingly, the names that have to stay at home are mostly injured players. Specifically, they include Xuan Truong, Hong Duy, Thanh Tung, Van Tien, Tuan Tai, Phuc Tinh, Hoang Lam, Van Thanh, Ngoc Tuan, Thanh Hien.
Among the eliminated names are many players with good skills and outstanding performances in the Vietnam U19 team in 2014 such as Xuan Truong, Hong Duy, Tuan Tai, Thanh Tung... Individuals such as Phuc Tinh, Thanh Hien, Hoang Lam all play in the V-League.

On March 20, Miura and his team will leave for Bangkok to prepare for a friendly match with the Thai Olympic team on March 22.
On March 24, the Vietnam Olympic team will go to Malaysia to participate in the qualifying round. In Group I, the Vietnam team will meet the Malaysian Olympic team (March 27), the Japanese Olympic team (March 29) and the Macau Olympic team (March 31).
According to the regulations of the 2016 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers, the 10 group winners and the five best runners-up will qualify for the finals in Qatar next year. There, the three best teams will be selected to compete at the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.
