Coach Miura: 'The Vietnamese Olympic team is making progress'
The Japanese strategist saw positive signs in the Vietnamese Olympic team's performance, despite their first failure in recent friendly matches.
"Compared to the match against U23 Indonesia, the Vietnamese Olympic players played more aggressively and strongly today. I am satisfied with this performance," said coach Toshiya Miura after the 0-0 draw in the friendly match against Uzbekistan Olympic team on the afternoon of March 14.

With the goal of refining the game and further assessing the abilities of his players, the Japanese coach made several changes to the starting lineup compared to the 1-0 victory against U23 Indonesia.
"The defense generally played safely, maintaining a reasonable distance from the central midfielders. The clean sheet demonstrates that. The issue that needs attention now is the attack. The forwards played aggressively and created many opportunities, but they need to be more effective," he emphasized.
The weakness that Miura pointed out was the individual errors in the defense in the last 15 minutes, putting the home team's goal under heavy pressure. According to him, this is a problem of concentration and can be gradually overcome over the next few matches.
The Vietnamese Olympic team will play a friendly match against Dong Nai on the afternoon of March 17th, before heading to Thailand for a training camp. The team will compete in the U23 Asian Cup qualifiers at the end of March.
