“Determining that Japan is a strong opponent, we will not give up our guns. I will do everything I can to help the Vietnam Olympic Team defeat this opponent. At that time, I hope your country can take care of me, because I am afraid that I will not be able to return home,” Coach Miura humorously shared with VnExpress. “After 300 days working in Vietnam, I find this place wonderful. The people are sincere and affectionate. I hope I can stay with this land for a long time.”

Coach Miura is preparing with the Vietnam Olympic team for the U23 Asian qualifiers. At the tournament taking place in Malaysia at the end of this month, the Vietnam Olympic team is in Group I with Macau Olympic, Japan Olympic and Malaysia Olympic.

“After a period of observation in the V-League, selection and working together, I can confirm that this generation of Olympic players has the same professional quality as the national team, the only difference is the age. The competition here is even better because the team has not yet formed a framework, opportunities are for everyone while in the national team many positions are solid and difficult to replace,” added Coach Miura.

Evaluating Coach Miura after nearly a year of working together at many levels of the national team, the leaders of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) expressed their satisfaction. General Secretary Le Hoai Anh said: “Firstly, Coach Miura works very professionally. Second, he has helped the national teams completely transform physically, always entering the tournament with full energy. In addition, the Japanese strategist cooperates very well with the VFF.”

Today, VFF signed a one-year sponsorship contract with Japan's Yanmar Group. Despite having a stable economy, VFF has decided not to announce the bonus for the Vietnam Olympic team in advance. General Secretary Le Hoai Anh only confirmed that Coach Miura and his team will be rewarded appropriately if they complete the goal of qualifying for the 2016 AFC U23 Championship finals.
