Coach Ngo Quang Truong received bad news before the National U15 Finals

(Baonghean.vn) - Recently, the draw ceremony and schedule for the 2017 National U15 Championship Finals put SLNA in an easy group, however, the serious injury of a key player made coach Ngo Quang Truong worried.

This time, the Vietnam U16 team has 5 players from SLNA who have gathered since May 29 and will last until July 23, to prepare for the 2017 Southeast Asian U16 Championship taking place from July 7 to 22 in Thailand.

The players summoned by coach Vu Hong Viet are all pillars of the SLNA U15 team, including midfielder Dinh Xuan Tien, Nguyen Van Bach (born in 2003), Ngo Quang Thuan, defender Duong Van Cuong (born in 2002) and goalkeeper Nguyen Van Viet.

Among the above players, Dinh Xuan Tien is the player highly appreciated by the head coach of Vietnam U16. However, during a training session before the International U15 Football Tournament taking place in Da Nang, Dinh Xuan Tien suffered a serious groin injury and had to return to the club for treatment.

Not only did he miss the opportunity to compete in a useful tournament, the ability of this versatile central midfielder to recover in time to participate in the National U15 Finals is what makes coach Ngo Quang Truong very worried.

“Tien has a strained groin and needs to be treated according to the doctor’s instructions for at least 3 more weeks. After that, he will have to have an X-ray to check the extent of the injury before he can practice again. I hope he will recover in time to participate in the upcoming National U15 Finals,” said coach Ngo Quang Truong.

The best player of the TN-ND Cup Nghe An Newspaper Football Tournament in 2014, although just promoted from the U13 SLNA team, is a pillar and an important key in the tactical scheme of Coach Truong. In the winning record in the qualifying round of U15 SLNA, this central midfielder played a very important role.

At the National U15 Finals this year, SLNA is expected to be in Group A with FLC Thanh Hoa, HAGL and host Tay Ninh. HAGL is the direct opponent of coach Ngo Quang Truong and his team. In Group B, there are PVF, Viettel, Dong Nai and Khanh Hoa.

The tournament will take place from August 2 to August 12 in Tay Ninh. In the first match, coach Ngo Quang Truong and his team will meet FLC Thanh Hoa, HAGL, and Tay Ninh in the final round of the group stage.
