(Baonghean.vn) - Coach Ngo Quang Truong shared with the media about SLNA's squad and goals in preparation for the 2020 season.

Returning from Hai Phong after more than 1 year of secondment, Coach Ngo Quang Truong immediately started coaching. After more than 2 weeks of working, the former Technical Director of Hai Phong gradually shaped the framework and playing style for SLNA with the help of 2 young assistants Nhu Thuat and Huy Hoang.

With the departure of a series of experienced players, SLNA will have to promote to the first team many young players who have never been exposed to the V.League environment such as Van Lam, Tien Anh...

Coach Ngo Quang Truong shared: “To prepare for the new season, each coach will have different views and choices. The good news is that with a large number of young players, each individual is trying their best to compete for a position, helping to evaluate and find new factors to prepare for my V.League 2020 season more smoothly.”

At the youth level, coach Ngo Quang Truong once led a group of players with the participation of Phan Van Duc to win the National U17 Championship in 2012. However, at the first team level, this is the first time the two teachers and students have had the opportunity to work together and the "captain" of SLNA also had an assessment of the former U23 Vietnam player: "Phan Van Duc's injury has basically recovered, 80% of his ability to play. Although he has basic techniques and has somewhat regained his ball feel, his current problem is his physical strength. I will create conditions for Phan Van Duc to be able to play as soon as possible but will not rush before my student is completely ready".

Currently, without the desired foreign players in hand and the squad not yet complete, Coach Ngo Quang Truong left open the answer about the goal that SLNA is aiming for in the new season and the answer will be the performance of his students when the season officially takes place.

In the match on the afternoon of December 28, coach Ngo Quang Truong also sent a foreign player on trial to play in the center-back position and with 20 minutes on the field, this player had a performance that was considered to be okay. Thus, it can be seen that the foreign player positions that SLNA plans to recruit will be 1 center-back and 1 striker to replace the departures of Damir Memovic and Olaha. The remaining foreign player slot will most likely be a position in the attack line.
