Oman coach praises Van Hau and Vietnamese Olympic players

Vietnam Olympic team took the field with the second team in the match against Oman, when many key players such as Van Thanh, Cong Phuong, Xuan Truong, Quang Hai were not present. Players such as Minh Vuong, Hung Dung, Tien Linh could not help coach Park Hang Seo's team create a stable game.

Entering the field in the second half, young defender Van Hau made a difference in the 89th minute with a beautiful flick of the outside of his foot to score the only goal. The goal of the Hanoi FC player helped Olympic Vietnam secure the championship of the four-nation tournament with 6 points in 2 matches.

Head coach Hamed Al-Azani of Olympic Oman acknowledged the class of the Vietnamese Olympic players: “I have been following this generation of Vietnamese football since 2015. There are many of your players who have been playing together since then until now. That is really great. I think this is the golden generation of Vietnamese football.

“I think you have to thank the federation and the clubs for the effort to create this generation. It’s not always about results, the most important thing is to build a generation with depth and consistency.”

Coach Hamed also did not forget to praise Doan Van Hau: “That was a really beautiful goal. The good thing about that goal was that it happened at the end of the match, when the players' physical strength and endurance had decreased a lot. That was really a very interesting goal.”

After this match, Olympic Oman will play their final match against Olympic Palestine on August 7 in the four-team tournament. Oman did not participate in the 2018 Asian Games and they are trying to create an excellent generation of players aiming for a place in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in Japan.
