Coach Park Hang-seo considers recalling Dinh Trong for Asian Cup 2019
With central defender Luc Xuan Hung possibly leaving the Vietnam team due to injury, coach Park Hang-seo is considering recalling Dinh Trong for the 2019 Asian Cup, as the player may not need surgery immediately.
Before the friendly match with North Korea on December 25, central defender Luc Xuan Hung suffered a ligament injury, and will most likely not be able to continue training to prepare for the 2019 Asian Cup. Due to lack of time for a new player to join the national team to replace him, coach Park Hang-seo said he is considering calling Dinh Trong back.

Regarding Dinh Trong's injury that required him to go to Korea for minor surgery, coach Park revealed that this player may postpone this plan to continue playing for the Vietnamese team in the friendly match with North Korea as well as in the upcoming 2019 Asian Cup.
"This is the first match to prepare for the 2019 Asian Cup. I will be missing some players but there will be some testing. The goal of the Vietnam team is to minimize injuries. Hopefully, we will prepare well in terms of tactics as well as all aspects before the 2019 Asian Cup.
