Coach Park Hang-seo considers recalling Dinh Trong for Asian Cup 2019
With central defender Luc Xuan Hung possibly leaving the Vietnamese team due to injury, coach Park Hang-seo is considering recalling Dinh Trong for the 2019 Asian Cup, as the player may not need surgery immediately.
Before the friendly match with North Korea on December 25, central defender Luc Xuan Hung suffered a ligament injury, and will most likely not be able to continue training in preparation for the 2019 Asian Cup. Due to lack of time for a new player to join the national team to replace him, coach Park Hang-seo said he is considering recalling Dinh Trong.

Regarding Dinh Trong's injury that required him to go to Korea for minor surgery, coach Park revealed that this player may postpone this plan to continue playing for the Vietnamese team in the friendly match with North Korea as well as in the upcoming 2019 Asian Cup finals.
"This is the first match to prepare for the 2019 Asian Cup. I will be missing some players but there will be some testing. The goal of the Vietnam team is to minimize injuries. Hopefully, we will prepare well in terms of tactics and all aspects before the 2019 Asian Cup.

Regarding Luc Xuan Hung's injury, the final results will be available tomorrow, then a decision will be made. We are waiting for the doctor's official report. My plan is to call Dinh Trong back. This player has shown very good form for the U23 and the national team. In the very short time to prepare for the Asian Cup finals, it is very difficult to call new players.
Before the AFF Cup 2018, Tran Dinh Trong discovered a very small bone fracture. If left alone without surgery, Trong could still play normally. The proof is that Dinh Trong played very well at the AFF Cup.
