Coach Park Hang-seo longs to return, but why hasn't he been able to?
After a long break, Coach Park Hang-seo really wants to return to the coaching cabin, but up to now, the former captain of the Vietnamese team is still... unemployed. Why is that?
Coach Park Hang Seo longs to return
On January 31, 2023, after more than 5 years of leading, working with and achieving many glories with Vietnamese football, Coach Park Hang Seo officially ended his contract with VFF.
Before parting ways, the Korean strategist said he would rest, spend time with his family, and prepare to launch the Youth Football Academy in Vietnam before returning to football.

And now, after nearly 1.5 years of rest, Coach Park Hang Seo has not returned to the coaching bench, even though he has been rumored to be leading many different teams, including the temporary captain of the Korean team.
Most recently, the hero of Vietnamese football also applied for the position of head coach of the Indian national team, however, Mr. Park Hang Seo was not selected by the National Football Federation in South Asia, so he could not return again.
Why not?
To be precise, the Korean coach is not unemployed as he is actually still an advisor to the club that just failed in the race to the First Division - Bac Ninh FC.
However, with the developments and a series of information from the Korean media, Coach Park Hang Seo really wants to return to the coaching cabin. That desire is so "burning" that there was information that the former captain of the Vietnamese team would lead Cambodia, along with speculations that candidates from Indonesia, Malaysia and even Thailand.

However, all the rumors from the media about Mr. Park's future have not yet come true, making it impossible for the coach considered the most successful in Southeast Asia in the past few years to return as expected by the majority of Vietnamese fans, who still have a lot of affection for the strategist from Korea.
Why Coach Park Hang Seo has not been able to return is the question that fans are asking at the moment. It is not easy to answer, but most likely the former captain of the Vietnamese team is having trouble because of the salary offered for the invitations to him.
In the 2019 contract renewal with VFF, Mr. Park's salary was up to 50,000 USD/month (after tax and equivalent to 600,000 USD/year) with the task of leading both the Vietnam national team and U23 Vietnam, not to mention benefits such as housing, cars...
This salary is not necessarily too high, but the problem lies in the treatment and after-tax benefits - something that not every Football Federation can agree to, because the mechanism is very different.
Not stopping at the financial story, even the suitability in terms of expertise and orientation also makes it difficult for Coach Park Hang Seo to find his way back to the coaching cabin.
To be clear, the Korean coach is more suited to "fighting" for results than building a long-term strategy for a football industry, like his compatriot coach Shin Tae Yong for example./.
