Coach Park Hang-seo becomes advisor to assistant Lee in Vietnam U22 team
VFF is about to finalize a plan for coach Park Hang-seo to take charge of the national team, and also act as an advisor to the U22 team led by assistant Lee Young-jin.
"Coach Park Hang-seo is still responsible for both the U22 team and the Vietnam national team, but with two different roles. He will be the coach of one team and an advisor on the other team," a VFF leader shared withVnExpressthis morning 22/2

At the end of 2019, the SEA Games and the World Cup qualifiers took place close together. Park Hang-seo said that he would not be able to have the best preparation if he were in charge of both teams. The Korean coach proposed to reduce the workload with the VFF, and it is likely that his proposal will be approved.
"Coach Park Hang-seo has recommended assistant Lee Young-jin to lead a team. This is a pretty good plan. However, we still have to discuss many other related issues," he added.
Lee Young-jin has contributed greatly to the success of Vietnamese football over the past year. He is the one who directly teaches the players during training sessions. The former Korean player is also the one who comes up with tactical plans for the coaching staff to decide before each match. Coach Park Hang-seo once publicly called assistant Lee Young-jin his "brain".
Lee began his professional football career in 1986 and represented South Korea at the 1990 and 1994 World Cups. In 1997, he became both a player and coach at Anyang LG Cheetahs and then FC Seoul. In 2015, he led Daegu FC to compete in the K-League.

VFF is calculating the plan to soon finalize Mr. Lee to lead U22 Vietnam. This year, they want to prepare carefully for the SEA Games, so the U22 team will have a long-term training and competition schedule, so that the new members can combine smoothly with players who have proven themselves in the national team such as Dinh Trong, Quang Hai, Van Hau...
By bringing Lee to lead a national team, VFF also has to consider finding another Korean assistant for coach Park Hang-seo.
