Coach Park Hang-seo has continuously scored achievements when helping the Vietnamese team reach the final round of the 2019 Asian Cup and the U23 Vietnam team win the silver medal at the U23 Asian Championship.

“VFF hopes that the Vietnamese team can advance to the quarterfinals, and coach Park Hang-seo also shares the same opinion. Of course, everything is not easy when the Asian Cup finals are attended by all the top teams in the continent,” VFF General Secretary Le Hoai Anh shared withVnExpress.

Coach Park Hang-seo said he is feeling more pressure after signing a new contract with VFF. The reason is because reaching the final of the U23 Asia Cup has made fans and experts place more expectations on him.

Vietnam reached the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup in 2007. That year, coach Alfred Riedl and his team defeated the UAE 2-0, drew 1-1 with Qatar and lost 1-4 to Japan, finishing second in Group B. In the quarter-finals, the team lost 0-2 to Iraq.

Vietnam reached the final round of the 2019 Asian Cup with an unbeaten record in the final qualifying round, in a group with Jordan, Afghanistan and Cambodia.

The draw for the final round of the tournament will take place at 10:30 p.m. today in the UAE. Vietnam will be represented by Head of Delegation Duong Vu Lam and Coach Park Hang-seo.
