About the criteria for selecting players for the national team

“Every coach has a criteria. I have my criteria, about 10 criteria. The first factor is the player's ability. The second is the ability to operate tactics. And of course there is mental strength. Mentally there is the factor of the ability to get along.

Huy Toan has just recovered and returned to play. I have followed him and found him to be capable. I want to say that the door to the national team is always equal and open to everyone. Of course, it is not because they played well before that we have to choose today. We have to rely on their performance."

Reason for not selecting Van Quyet for the national team

“Van Quyet is a talented player. The tactics of the club and the national team are different. I am sure that Van Quyet will still have a chance when he comes here. However, just because he plays well at the club does not mean he will play well on the national team. Previously, some people asked me why I did not choose the top scorer. But I said, I have many criteria, in which the ability to accept new tactics is very important.

"I heard that Mac Hong Quan is originally a striker. If he plays in a 3-4-3 formation with the national team, he cannot play as a midfielder. There are two types of strikers. The first is a striker. "I am the head coach but I cannot say for sure whether I am prepared or not for the World Cup goal. For this, the Vietnamese Federation and Government must develop a detailed plan. And based on this plan, the head coach will implement it.
