According to the organizing committee's regulations, participating teams must submit a tentative list of 23 players 10 days before the tournament officially starts. Coach Park Hang-seo has decided to temporarily remove striker Dinh Thanh Binh from the tentative list of the Vietnamese team participating in the 2019 Asian Cup finals.

Currently, coach Park Hang-seo’s team has traveled to Qatar for a short training session for the tournament. Here, the Vietnamese team will have a friendly match with the Philippines team on December 31.

Also in the list of teams expected to play in the 2019 Asian Cup, the Philippines surprisingly left out goalkeeper Neil Etheridge, who currently plays in the English Premier League. Previously, the Philippine Football Federation confirmed that Etheridge would participate in the 2019 Asian Cup, but would only play in one match due to a pre-existing agreement with Cardiff City.
