(Baonghean.vn) - Coach Philippe Troussier selected 30 players to prepare for the match against Syria at Thien Truong Stadium (Nam Dinh) on June 20, including defender Que Ngoc Hai and young goalkeeper from Nghe An - Nguyen Van Viet.
Today (June 18), the Vietnamese team traveled to Nam Dinh to prepare for an international friendly match with the Syrian team within the framework of FIFA Days in June 2023. Before departing for Thanh Nam, coach Philippe Troussier also shortened the list to 30 players.
Accordingly, the French coach retained 21 out of 23 players on the list registered to compete in the recent match against Hong Kong (China), and selected 6 additional players.Vietnam teamand 3 players of the U23 Vietnam team who did not play in the match against Hong Kong (China) were added to the list to prepare for the match against the Syrian team.

Specifically, 6 additional players selected for the Vietnam national team include goalkeeper Tran Minh Toan, defenders Vu Van Thanh, Bui Tien Dung, strikers Nguyen Cong Phuong, Nguyen Van Toan, and Nham Manh Dung.
3 players in the U23 Vietnam squad were given the opportunity to join the national team, including goalkeeper Nguyen Van Viet, midfielder Nguyen Thai Son, and Nguyen Duc Phu.

Thus, with the four players retained after the match against Hong Kong (China), defender Phan Tuan Tai, midfielder Khuat Van Khang, Hoang Van Toan and striker Nguyen Van Tung, the U23 Vietnam squad in the list to prepare for the match against the Syrian team is seven players.
Also today, the group of players from the Vietnam national team and U23 Vietnam team who were not on the list preparing for the match with the Syria team were returned to their clubs, ending the training session in June 2023.
After finalizing the list, the Vietnamese team will travel to Nam Dinh and will have two training sessions to prepare for the match against Syria, at 7:30 p.m. on June 20 at Thien Truong Stadium.
