Coaches and athletes receive a daily food allowance of 400,000 VND.
The Prime Minister has just issued Decision No. 82/2013/QD-TTg on a number of specific policies for outstanding sports coaches and athletes.
This Decision regulates the nutrition, wages, medical care, and training and competition equipment for outstanding coaches and athletes during their training and competition periods. Other benefits and policies not stipulated in this Decision will continue to be provided to outstanding coaches and athletes according to current regulations.

According to the decision, outstanding coaches and athletes training domestically are entitled to a daily meal allowance of 400,000 VND per person. When market prices fluctuate by 10% or more, as announced by the General Statistics Office, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Ministry of Finance, will adjust the meal allowance accordingly...
In addition to the prescribed nutritional supplement regimen, outstanding athletes are entitled to nutritional supplement regimens tailored to the specific characteristics of their respective sports, as stipulated by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Outstanding coaches and athletes who do not receive salaries from the state budget are entitled to a daily allowance: 500,000 VND per person per day for coaches; 400,000 VND per person per day for athletes.
Coaches and outstanding athletes who receive salaries from the state budget but whose salaries are lower than the prescribed wage level will have the difference paid from the state budget during training and competition periods to ensure they meet the level stipulated in the Decision.
The decision takes effect from February 15th.
