Ho Ngoc Ha: 'Cuong Do La invited me to live together'
Ho Ngoc Ha praised her ex-husband as a mature man who was always sweet to her. The female singer also revealed that Cuong Do La still invited her to live together and have another daughter.
Ho Ngoc Ha has been, is and will be a name of interest in Vietnamese showbiz. What she sings, what she wears, what she says, where she goes and especially "who she is in love with" is always a topic of discussion, even debate.
In a thoughtful conversation with the female singer, Ha opened up about the stories that have caused a stir recently. The way she faced each issue was very straightforward. The portrait of a 33-year-old Ho Ngoc Ha appeared clearly and emotionally.

Looking at your acting in the MV "A Whole Sky of Memories", many people said: "Whoever Ha sets her sights on will fall into her net", especially her very flirtatious eyes. Do you think this is correct?
- Maybe (laughs). But it seems like people think too highly of me.
Talking about how to express when you like someone or want them to belong to you, yes, that is my way of expressing. I always share that I am an amateur actor, so my acting comes from experience. That is definitely Ho Ngoc Ha, not just the character in the clip.
In real life, do you also attack your opponents proactively and with clever calculations like that?
- Once I like someone, I will take the initiative, but of course the person must be right.
With that calculation and initiative, has Ho Ngoc Ha ever been wrong?
- I have enough insight to let go immediately when I feel like it's not right. In the eyes of people who like each other, there will be more or less electric sparks, similarly when people admire each other, there will also be different looks.
But of course, I don’t always go looking for someone like that. I’m a working person, I don’t always have time to go out and look for someone and conquer them like that. I’m also not the type of woman who “looks” at everyone, wants everyone to be hers.
Of course, in life, misunderstandings are inevitable, and through them, lessons and experiences will be learned. As for whether I am wrong or not, on a personal level, I have never and will never want to do anything wrong for myself or for others.

At this time, some people still say you are not worthy of being a singer, singing softly. How do you respond to these opinions?
- I think these are unverified comments. At first, I received a lot of malicious comments, which is true. But after a while, I always rely on the majority.
For example, how many rumors there are, how many opinions the audience has about that product. After all, through hundreds of stages that I have performed on, a person without real talent will never have enough confidence to perform and conquer thousands of people like that.
For those who make negative comments, I hope they have a solid basis and do more research. Only then will I and other artists listen and accept. As for those who hate me, even if I try a hundred times harder, it will be nothing in their eyes.
Ho Ngoc Ha is smart and calm, but in front of anti-fans, people still see her get angry every time she is criticized?
- It's because they were too much when they entered my house and said inappropriate words. I don't have enough time to reply to all the anti-fans.
Sometimes, in some emotion, I also want to tell the truth so that they understand. Even though I know they don't need to understand or don't want to understand, but staying silent forever is not good.
When did you start to feel confident about your singing voice?
- I think it was 3 years ago. Before that, I always sang by instinct. After a period of practice, now I can control my voice in any way I want.
Besides, I also measure the audience's emotions when listening. Only then can I dare to do my own shows. Otherwise, it is difficult to keep the audience sitting for that long during a concert.
Before and after this milestone, how do you think your singing style has changed?
- The difference is in the way I hold the mic. When I wasn't confident, I was always scared, and the way I held the mic was more or less shaky. Now, I can control the mic according to my own intentions. You know, a confident look is very different from a confused look. I'm also confident in my breathing and every step.

At the Love Songs concert, she said: “Live realistically, love with all your heart, suffer deeply and forget quickly”. The phrase “forget quickly” is controversial because many people think that if the love is deep, it cannot be forgotten quickly?
- I accept my personality and live up to it. Nowadays, many women can be independent in their own lives, they know what to hold on to and what to let go.
Ho Ngoc Ha's love story is very clear, when in love, she says she loves, when she feels like she no longer belongs to each other, she says goodbye.
Don't you have any regrets, hurt or attachment?
- When I was young, I could cry, struggle, think that losing this love would make life meaningless. But when knowing how to judge clearly, a woman will surely have her own choice. I see many cases, the more you hold on, the more the man wants to leave.
Choosing this way, does it seem too cruel to the men who have passed through your life?
- Sin? Why don't you feel sorry for the woman? When a love affair breaks up, does the man lose more than the woman?

"The person most suitable to be Ha Ho's friend for a long time is Cuong, the person who is most infatuated with Ha is Khoa". How much do you agree with Dam Vinh Hung's statement?
- What happened in the past, I don't want to mention it again because it will affect me, Mr. Hung and other people's lives. For me, what happened in the past is closed, and the more it is opened, the more it will lead to bad misunderstandings. It's best that we respect everyone's life.

In the MV "A Whole Time of Memories", you expressed the view of "leaving others before they leave you". With Cuong and Khoa, is this also the way you choose?
- All other silent love affairs are the same, that is Ho Ngoc Ha's way. But each story has different reasons, sometimes they betrayed you, lied to you but sometimes because they treated you too well.
Feeling unworthy, I decided to stop. Sometimes happiness is too much, followed by the fear that tomorrow will not be the same, stopping is also a way to keep it.
People look at Ha and say that she chose a rather cruel way of loving, making the other person regret and always painfully think about her?
- Women often collapse when they are in pain, so it is best to "withdraw" before feeling this. Men know how to control their emotions better.
Is this the biggest lesson you have learned after your previous broken relationships?
- Maybe it's partly my natural personality, along with experience.
In an interview, Cuong said not to call him Cuong Do La and also did not want to be involved in showbiz. Hearing that, did you feel embarrassed because you were the one who dragged him into this?
- I was never the one who brought Cuong into showbiz. It wasn't because of me, it was Cuong's choice. I never tried to win Cuong over or say "Cuong loves Ha", it was Cuong who did the opposite.
From that conquest, a wonderful love arose between us. Who knows, at that time, Cuong liked to be called “Cuong Do La” but now that he has become a father, a responsible person in life and has a stable job, Cuong wants to be called by his real name.
I really support Cuong's way of thinking, which is becoming more and more mature through the way he expresses himself to me. In my eyes, Subeo is Cuong's whole life.
![]() |
Does that mean that before, in your eyes, Cuong was not mature enough?
- Cuong has always been mature in life and very sweet to me.
You broke up with her a long time ago, but Cuong Do La's love life is still a topic of public interest. Do you share with your ex every time he dates or breaks up with his lovers?
- That is the topic of public discussion but never of Ha. I never interfere in Cuong's private life. That's why I have a natural personality, once it's over, I will never care.
There are many strange women, when in love they don't know how to cherish, but when they break up and the man finds someone more suitable, they start to go crazy, curse, cling and make their image worse in the eyes of the other person.
I advise women who are sometimes a little petty and angry to swallow it or spit it out. Why keep finding bad things about new people and putting them down?
In the press, people often compare me with others, sometimes I can't help but feel annoyed, but it passes. Everyone has to go through ages from young to old, beautiful to ugly, failure to success, today's happiness is not necessarily tomorrow's joy. Therefore, it's best not to care anymore.
Now that you have overcome the misunderstandings and see each other as friends, can you gently share the reason that led to your divorce?
- Cuong and I share the same opinion that if we keep something, we keep it forever. We are now close friends and can share everything in life. When we are at our "craziest", we don't talk, so why do we talk when we are at our calmest?
![]() |
On social networks, many audiences support you and Cuong will return, what about you?
- What is broken is very difficult to mend. Our relationship has entered another phase, the feelings have also passed. Men want everything, women only want one, but when the only thing they want has passed, everything belongs to the past. Cuong and I will always be soul mates, will always share everything in life.
Not for you, but from Cuong's side, has he ever asked you to come back to the same house?
- Cuong is very cute and sweet with all women, not just me. Sometimes Cuong also jokes, "Come back and stay with me, then we can give Subeo a little sister."
I knew those were Cuong's jokes, so I expressed my opinion cheerfully but clearly: "Okay, I beg you." (laughs loudly).
But people blame you for being too carefree with your ex-husband, causing him to break up with his young lover Ha Vi?
- That's just people's speculation, I've never touched or commented on it. I think this way, once you accept to love a man who has been married before and has children, in addition to love, the woman also needs to be tolerant. If you are still selfish and demand that all good things belong to you, that love will never last.
On the contrary, the more tolerant you are, the more that person will love you. There must always be rules in love so as not to step into each other's personal limits.
And every time you go out with Cuong, aren't you afraid of making her jealous?
- I have never heard an official statement from that person so I don't know if they are jealous or not. But I think it is foolish to be "jealous" of something that has already happened. Be jealous of things in the present.
With the experience of a mature woman, a broken love story cannot be brought back, if anything they are happy for their children, for the connection that was missed in the past.
Later, if I ever get together with someone whose wife has passed away and has children, I will always maintain the view that "their happiness is my happiness" and why "we can't be friends".
Why is it that now and at this age, you have just revealed all your principles of love?
- I think people have understood this for a long time. Sometimes when I read my own opinions, I am still surprised and do not understand why I can think of those things. Because I have such open-minded thoughts, people often think that Ho Ngoc Ha is unrealistic, different, fake or even crazy.

Looking back on your career, what do you think has made Ho Ngoc Ha who she is today?
- Luckily for my singing career, in the early days of my career, I never considered myself the center of the universe. Of course, I was also a stubborn girl.
But after many expensive lessons, I realized that love, fame, and money are things that we should never be proud of. They are very fragile things, and we don't know what tomorrow will bring. So, just live life to the fullest, but be realistic and humble.

Most recently, Minh Hang accused you of being oppressive and not agreeing to sit on the same coaching chair as The Face. At that time, you only spoke up to “contact the organizing committee”, but what is the root of the story?
- Of course, life will always have different misunderstandings, and recently there have been misunderstandings that people have concluded too hastily. I have never asked others to choose me when working with me, and not to choose others. That has never happened! On the contrary, I always have a plan for myself and others.
In the last story, I asked to let me work with this person because there needs to be harmony. If not, let them do it and I'm still happy to guest star if needed.
However, no one mentioned the second good factor, or the person transmitting the information did not bother to mention it because they wanted to cause internal division and break up relationships in showbiz.
Personally, if I were faced with the story of someone who asserted “if Ho Ngoc Ha existed, I would not exist”, I would also remain silent and use that as motivation so that one day, the person who said that sentence will have to think again. Alternatively, I would thoroughly investigate the source of the story instead of jumping to hasty conclusions and causing a public uproar.
Later, when performing with Minh Hang in some events, how did you both react when you met?
- I have never done anything wrong to be ashamed of. Anyone who is too hasty and has not thought carefully should think again. If you want showbiz to be better, there is nothing better than facing and talking directly.

Are you blaming Minh Hang's reaction in the recent scandal?
I don't want to comment on any artist, I'm just talking about myself.
When working, I have a principle of working with people who are compatible, and never have to "share the same boat with this person" or nitpick about "upper position" or "lower position". I used to be someone who had nothing until I had a little like now, and what I have now can be lost tomorrow.
I understand that lesson above all, so when discussing with the crew before accepting to be a judge or appear on a music show, I always demand interaction and compatibility. Compatibility is about personality and juggling, not about culture, position or name.
In my singing career, I have worked with many great artists but also many young people, so there is no reason for me to bully or oppress anyone. Those two words have never appeared in my dictionary.
Do you want to talk to her?
- I'm not saying hope or not hope, but should or shouldn't.
If Hang wanted to talk, would you agree?
- Why not?
