Director Tran Vi My said that coming to the festival, he hopes to vividly recreate on stage the legend of Song Ngu and the hero Nguyen Xi. According to him, these legends are very familiar to the people of Nghe An but not all tourists know them.
Nghe people have passed down the story that, since ancient times, the Cua Lo sea area has always had fierce waves and storms. Seeing many people lose their lives, two fishermen brothers volunteered to sacrifice themselves in exchange for peace for the sea. After they threw themselves into the water, the sea slowly rose up into an island with two mountains, and from that time on, the sea suddenly became peaceful until today. In gratitude to the two fishermen brothers, the people in the area called the island Song Ngu. All of these things will be shown through the Legend of Song Ngu Island scene.
In the Epic: Nguyen Xi (singer Huynh Loi performs the song), the image of the famous general Nguyen Xi - the founder of Cua Lo town - will be portrayed majestically through the character on stage with comments about his merits.
