Support 100 million VND for the hamlet to complete the new rural criteria in Thanh Chuong
(Baonghean.vn) - Thanh Chuong district is directing mountainous communes to select at least 19 villages and hamlets that are capable of meeting NTM standards to strive to implement. Hamlets that reach the finish line this year will receive support of 100 million VND/hamlet from the district.
On the afternoon of July 30, after inspecting the situation in Ngoc Lam and Thanh Linh communes, the Central Steering Committee delegation for national target programs, period 2016-2020, led by Colonel Nguyen Xuan Phuc - Deputy Director of the Department of Economics, Ministry of National Defense, worked with the leaders of Thanh Chuong district (Nghe An) on the implementation of national target programs in the district.

Thanh Chuong district leaders said that the district has many policies and mechanisms in building new rural areas such as: Issuing a Resolution on supporting the construction of villages and hamlets to reach the new rural target in 2019, a Resolution on supporting the development of some crops and livestock associated with brand building and product consumption in the period of 2016-2020.
In particular, every year, the District People's Committee allocates 50% of the district's land use rights auction fund, with a total budget of over 9 billion VND, to support communes in building infrastructure.

The total resources for implementing the program accumulated to June 30, 2019 were 1,554 billion VND; the total area of land donated to expand roads and welfare works was over 151 hectares. The average number of criteria achieved in the whole district was 15.92 criteria/commune, with 15/39 communes meeting the standards, 10/39 communes meeting 15-17 criteria/commune, 9/39 communes meeting 12-14 criteria/commune and 05 communes meeting 8-11 criteria. In 2018, 37/39 communes had an average income of over 30 million VND/person/year.
It is expected that by the end of 2019, Thanh Chuong will have 3 more communes meeting NTM standards: Phong Thinh, Thanh My and Thanh Phong, bringing the cumulative number of communes meeting the standards in the district to 18/39 communes; the average of the whole district reaching 16.2 criteria/commune.
Strive to have at least 1 commune meeting the standards of a model new-style rural commune and an advanced new-style rural commune by the end of 2019; have at least 10 gardens meeting the standards of new-style rural gardens; direct mountainous communes to select at least 19 villages and hamlets with the ability to build to meet new-style rural standards for implementation.

At the working session, the delegation highly appreciated the efforts in building new rural areas and was especially impressed with the poverty reduction results of Thanh Chuong district, with the characteristics of a mountainous district, many communes, low starting point, including 2 resettlement communes in mountainous, remote and extremely difficult areas.
To have a basis for evaluating and summarizing 10 years of implementing the National Target Programs, the district needs to clarify the difficulties and advantages of each region, clearly state the effectiveness of investment projects as well as ways to effectively exploit them after construction, the accuracy in selecting support objects, measures to stabilize the security and political situation in the area...
