Since the end of 2019, Vietnam, like other countries in the world, has faced unpredictable difficulties and challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The pandemic has negatively impacted the socio-economic situation and severely affected income-generating activities, especially for unprotected workers and vulnerable groups.

Young Vietnamese workers abroad are also affected by sudden changes in working conditions, and in some cases are forced to return home, facing many socio-economic difficulties along with the process of reintegration into their families, communities and the local labor market.

In order to help the above young people stabilize their lives soon, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union coordinated with the United Nations Population Fund in Vietnam, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Youth Unions of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, and Quang Tri provinces to implement the project "Project to mitigate the impact of Covid-19 on vulnerable population groups" funded by the Government and people of Japan, with technical support from the United Nations Population Fund in Vietnam.
