Support for raising colored chicken breeds in Quynh Luu

(Baonghean.vn) - Implementing the agricultural extension model, the Animal Experiment and Conservation Center under the Animal Husbandry Institute has supported 15 thousand colored chicken breeds to households in Quynh Hoa, Ngoc Son and Quynh Tan (Quynh Luu). After just over 2 months, the chickens have grown very well, giving high efficiency.

In addition to supporting breeding chickens, the program also supports veterinary medicine and 30% of animal feed for 15 households in 3 communes; each household raises 1,000 birds on a pilot basis.

After more than 2 months, through the assessment of the Center for Experimental and Conservation of Livestock (Institute of Animal Husbandry), the flock of chickens developed well, weighing 1.2 kg to 1.4 kg/chicken.

During the raising process, households have applied good raising procedures, built standard barn models; regularly monitored the growth of the chicken flock. It is expected that in about 2 weeks, the chicken flock will be sold, on average, the rooster weighs 2.5 kg to 3 kg/chicken, the hen weighs 1.8 kg - 2 kg/chicken.
