(Baonghean.vn) - On April 19th, a press conference was held in Hanoi regarding the Conference to honor outstanding women of ethnic minorities in the Northwest region who are excelling in economic activities, which will be held in Vinh City, Nghe An province in May.

The conference was attended by 192 official delegates (including 32 exemplary organizations and 160 exemplary individuals) from 14 provinces in the Northwest region and two neighboring provinces, Ha Tinh and Quang Ninh. These are truly "flowers of the bauhinia in the business world," as the special report to be broadcast on VTV1, Vietnam Television, suggests.

At the press conference, the leaders of the Northwest Steering Committee stated that the conference was an opportunity to assess the contributions of women of ethnic minorities and women's associations at all levels in promoting creativity, diligence, dynamism, seizing new opportunities of the integration and development era, promoting the role and position of women in developing family economies, building women's associations, and contributing increasingly to the construction of a prosperous and sustainably developed Northwest region.

The conference also served as an opportunity to recognize and commend the efforts to overcome difficulties, the spirit of mutual support and creativity of outstanding women from ethnic groups in the Northwest region who excelled in economic activities; to create a forum for exchanging experiences, replicating best practices and advanced models in various fields of production and business, and to open opportunities for women from ethnic groups in the Northwest to connect with businesses and expand their markets.

According to the organizers, within the framework of the conference, in addition to the forum "Enhancing the Competitiveness of Ethnic Minority Women in the Northwestern Provinces," there will be a ceremony to report achievements and offer incense in commemoration of President Ho Chi Minh in his hometown. The conference will be broadcast live on Nghe An Radio and Television.
