Miss Transgender Vietnam press conference canceled at the last minute

On the afternoon of February 23, the event to announce the top 20 Miss Transgender Vietnam, organized by Huong Giang Company, was canceled at the last minute. The incident forced the guests, contestants and media to leave despite being present.

As expected, the event will introduce the top 20 of the Miss International Queen VietNam 2023 program (a beauty pageant for transgender people).

Ms. Pham Dac My Tran - Head of Press Department of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications confirmed that the program was forced to cancel due to not having enough permits.

"The nature of the program is related to organizing a beauty pageant, but the organization did not submit enough documents. We requested to postpone the press conference and the organization complied," said Ms. Tran.

The representative of the Department of Information added that Huong Giang complied immediately after being notified. Therefore, the Department only issued a reminder and did not impose an administrative penalty.

Currently, the Miss Transgender Vietnam organizing committee and Huong Giang have not responded to the incident.

Miss Transgender Vietnam 2023 is organized by Miss Huong Giang's company. Episode 1 aired on February 17 with the participation of young coaches including: Runner-up Mai Ngo, Runner-up Thuy Tien, Runner-up Quynh Chau and model Bui Quynh Hoa.

The current Miss Universe is Phung Truong Tran Dai. She will pass on the crown to her successor at the finals scheduled to take place in April in Ho Chi Minh City. The winner will compete in the Miss International Queen 2023 pageant to be held in Thailand in the near future.
