The most beautiful Miss World 2008: 'Vietnam is always in my heart'
Dayana Mendoza shared that the milestone of being crowned Miss Universe 2008 in Nha Trang helped her turn a new page in life.
On the morning of January 6, in Nha Trang, Miss Universe 2008 Dayana Mendoza and Miss Universe Vietnam Pham Huong had a meeting with the media before the final night.
After 10 years of winning the Miss Universe contest, the Venezuelan beauty confided: "Vietnam has opened up a new life for me, many new opportunities. I always have special feelings for your country. Thank you for always giving me a place in your hearts and I always will."

Despite her busy work schedule, the beauty does not feel tired or pressured. She hopes this time she will have time to swim in Nha Trang beach, enjoy delicious food, meet many old acquaintances...
At the meeting, Dayana Mendoza read a handwritten letter thanking her fans in Vietnamese. "What I have today is thanks to your love and support. Thank you Miss Universe Vietnam organizing committee, thank you everyone," the beauty said in tears.

Arriving in Nha Trang on January 5, Dayana Mendoza was warmly welcomed by the Miss Universe Vietnam organizers and contestants, including Miss Pham Huong. She commented that Pham Huong is a sweet, warm and kind person.
When asked about Pham Huong who attracted attention but did not win any awards at Miss Universe 2015, Dayana Mendoza said: "I think the title of Miss Universe Vietnam is already a great gift for her. Huong does not need to compete in other international competitions to prove anything more. She is already an excellent representative of Vietnam. I learned and know that in the past two years of her term, she has done very well"...

As one of the judges of Miss Universe Vietnam 2017, Dayana Mendoza said that her criteria for choosing the winner is to have both inner and outer beauty. She also sent a message to the contestants: "There is no experience like sincerity, kindness and always being yourself."

Dayana Mendoza is living a happy life with her husband and two-year-old daughter. When talking about her child, she smiles happily. Waking up every morning and looking at her daughter is her joy. She said she has been preparing the best for her daughter's future. The beauty is studying film directing and production. In the remaining time, she enjoys life and does what she likes.
Referring to the title "Most beautiful Miss World 2008" and "one of the three most beautiful Miss Universes of all time", Dayana Mendoza said it was an honor, but also a great pressure that forced her to always maintain a beautiful image in the eyes of the audience.
