Miss Cinema 1991 Huong Giang shares her life as a single mother for the past 20 years
After a broken marriage nearly 20 years ago, Miss Cinema Huong Giang has yet to find a new "landing place". She accepts being a single mother, enjoying a peaceful life with her son.
Miss Cinema goes to act in plays, lives quietly
Artist Huong Giang became known to many people when she won the title of Miss Cinema 1991 - a contest to select film and television actors initiated by the Ho Chi Minh City Cinema Association.
Having achieved the title at the age of 21, Huong Giang received the attention of directors and producers. The female artist not only received many invitations to act in TV series and movies but also ventured into the fashion catwalk, worked as an MC, and was a calendar model...
With a lovely appearance and the advantage of being trained properly since childhood, Huong Giang plays every role "sweetly", from tragic roles, comedic roles to villain roles.

In the 90s, the image of Miss Cinema Huong Giang almost covered newspapers and small screens. She continuously appeared in programs, leaving her mark through roles in films: "Corpse on the Plateau", "Farewell Summer", "Goodbye Ba River"...
Despite her beautiful appearance and gentle personality, in her career, Huong Giang is often assigned to strong, negative roles.
In 1996, when she played the role of Ngan - a character with a cruel personality in the movie "Nguoi dep Tay Do" (Viet Trinh played the main role), Huong Giang was "hated bitterly" by the audience. However, the actress was not shy but felt happy because she had successfully portrayed the character.

Despite a smooth start and making an impression with many roles, artist Huong Giang has had a rather quiet artistic career.
The artist has been associated with the Idecaf stage for many years, appearing in the plays "Once upon a time". The actress said that she is passionate about acting, devoted to the stage, and rarely participates in competitions, so her name is not on the list of awards in the art field. However, for her, living with her profession and passion is enough.
Recently, Huong Giang has attracted attention as one of the artists accompanying Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc's Thien Dang stage. Huong Giang admitted that she has had a rather quiet and less active career compared to her colleagues.
The artist added: "I finish work and then go home, but rarely socialize with anyone or appear in front of crowds. I even rarely attend parties and entertainment events because I feel out of place and inappropriate."
Huong Giang said she works because she loves her job, not for fame. For years, she has focused on her work, and whether the audience accepts it or not is their right.
"Many people wonder if I feel sad when my reputation is inferior to that of my colleagues. Actually, no, because that is the path I have chosen. For the past few decades, I have only focused on doing my job well, not liking to compare or compete with anyone.
Everything has its good and bad sides. If you become too famous, you will encounter a lot of gossip or be scrutinized. I am quite shy and not outspoken. If someone says something hurtful, I will withdraw. I want to be happy and comfortable in my job. I don't like a life that is too chaotic so that I am always under pressure and have random thoughts.
I used to be a beauty pageant contestant, so I know the downside of fame. I want to be myself, do what I like, and not force myself to live according to other people's wishes.
I don't like conflict because I'm afraid that one day my mind will become callous and barren. I choose to withdraw to keep my spirit always comfortable and light."

After more than 30 years of working in the arts, Huong Giang said she is lucky to be loved and respected by many colleagues. Although her name is not too famous, she feels happy to still be able to work and contribute to the arts for so many years.
The 1991 Miss Cinema confided that she only hopes that the audience will remember her through her roles and artistic products. The artist admitted that she is not suitable to participate in overly vibrant entertainment programs. That is also the reason why she rarely appears on television or game shows.
Single mother for over 20 years, making a living with many jobs
Huong Giang revealed that she had gone through periods of economic stagnation and hardship. However, no matter the circumstances, the artist always maintained an optimistic and positive attitude and "cut her coat according to her cloth" to adapt to life.
"A stage artist's salary is not always enough to live on, so I have to do other jobs to earn income such as filming sitcoms, dubbing... I am willing to do everything within my ability, not afraid of difficulties," said the 7X artist.

Huong Giang said she lives simply and has no need to eat or dress like other people. During times of economic hardship, she eats white rice and boiled vegetables but still finds them delicious.
The artist added: "I don't force myself to live in a big house, wear designer clothes or drive a luxury car like others. I accept material deprivation to have a comfortable spiritual life. Every night I sleep well, without stress or calculating gains and losses."
In contrast to her smooth career, Huong Giang's love life has been somewhat bumpy. The artist has experienced a broken marriage and has been a single mother for over 20 years.
The 1991 Miss Cinema admitted that she was not lucky enough in love. However, she is still satisfied with her life, happily spending happy days with her son Bao Duy (born 2000).

Huong Giang shared: "My son has finished college and started working, I am happy for him. Bao Duy is very understanding and loves his mother. My son has his own opinions, is capable and does not compete or compete with anyone. That makes me feel warm and happy."
Huong Giang said she is not under financial pressure and feels satisfied with her current life. At the age of nearly 60, the artist is said to still maintain her youthful beauty. She devotes much of her passion to art and occasionally spends time traveling to many places.

When the reporter mentioned "going further", Huong Giang said: "There are many people who come to get to know each other and talk, but I don't think it's a good fit. If it's not a good fit, then we shouldn't try to make each other suffer.
I also don't expect to find a "shoulder", because basically I always feel loved and protected by relatives and friends around me. As for love, I guess I have to wait for fate, I don't take it too seriously."
Actress Huong Giang's full name is Nguyen Huong Giang, born in 1970. Since she was a child, her mother guided her towards art, studying drama, pantomime, singing and dancing.
In 1991, Huong Giang won the Miss Cinema award (contest for selecting film and television actors), and since then has become a face that many filmmakers have noticed.
