Miss Do My Linh and her mother registered to donate organs

The beauty from Hanoi wrote on her personal page: "This means a lot to me. When I die, I will leave behind parts of my body. Many people will receive new life from me."

Do My Linh's decision was supported by her mother. She also registered to donate organs with her daughter. The beauty queen's activities are part of the charity project "Giving is Forever" of Miss World Vietnam 2019. In addition, Ms. Pham Kim Dung, head of the organizing committee, and three contestants, Nguyen Thi Quynh Nga, Trinh Le Uyen and Nguyen Tuong San, also registered to donate organs.

Before Do My Linh, many Vietnamese stars such as Quyen Linh, Viet Trinh, Nguyen Phi Hung... performed acts of charity with the hope of saving many people.

Do My Linh was born in 1996 and was crowned Miss Vietnam 2016. In 2017, she represented Vietnam at Miss World and entered the top 40 with the "Beauty with a Heart" award.

Organ donation is the legal donation of a body part. In Vietnam, this activity is accepted by the National Organ Transplant Coordination Center. After the touching event of Hai An donating her corneas after dying of a brain tumor early last year, the organ donation movement spread.

Anyone 18 years of age or older with full civil capacity has the right to donate tissues and organs while alive or to register as potential tissue and organ donors (donation after death or brain death). Elderly people can donate part of their tissues, organs and corneas after death or brain death.

There are currently two official addresses authorized to register and issue organ donation cards in Vietnam: the Human Organ Transplant Coordination Unit at Cho Ray Hospital (HCMC) and the National Organ Transplant Coordination Center located at Viet Duc Friendship Hospital (Hanoi).
