US announces new phase of fight against IS
Foreign ministers from countries participating in the anti-IS coalition will discuss plans for the next anti-terror campaign in Washington on February 6.

"Ministers will discuss the next phase of the campaign in Iraq and Syria, which will focus on protecting against the resurgence of IS through stabilisation and facilitating security," the statement said.
The US State Department stressed that the United States "is determined to prevent the resurgence of ISIS in Syria and Iraq after the withdrawal of US troops from Syria, and remains committed to working with the global coalition to destroy the remnants of ISIS and disrupt its global ambitions."
