The United States is building a scenario for limited nuclear war with Russia.
The United States is drawing up scenarios for waging a limited nuclear war against Russia, said Igor Korotchenko, Editor-in-Chief of the Russian Defense magazine.
This was his comment on Pentagon Deputy Assistant Director David Trahtenberg's statement that the United States needs low-yield nuclear weapons to contain Russia and that the United States has no plans to lower the threshold for using its nuclear weapons.

"These statements show that the United States is drawing up a scenario for a limited nuclear war in Europe, when the use of reduced-yield nuclear weapons is considered possible during military operations against the Russian Federation," Korotchenko told Sputnik.
According to him, Russia does not need to react to "every sneeze of Pentagon generals", because the training, planning and exercise system of the Russian Armed Forces is aimed at responding to and neutralizing any situation.
“At the same time, the use of tactical nuclear weapons by the United States against the Russian Federation will automatically mean a nuclear missile strike against the centers of the United States, which are implementing similar plans and issuing corresponding orders,” the expert explained.
