India is at the top of the list, followed by Afghanistan in second place, while Syria is at the third spot. The list also includes countries like Somalia, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Yemen, Nigeria, and the United States. Other countries appear on the list separately in each category, but the top 10 are the ones that lead the pack overall.
It is worth noting that women in Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and India suffer the most discrimination, including discrimination in the workplace, inability to earn money, unequal rights to land, property and inheritance, as well as lack of access to education and inadequate nutrition.
India, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the United States and Syria (tied) are the top countries where women are most likely to be sexually abused. In terms of non-sexual violence, countries like Afghanistan, Syria and India are leading, while the United States is sixth, according to Reuters.
