The United States became the main importer of Ukrainian assault weapons in 2017.
In 2017 Ukraine secured the supply of conventional weapons under export contracts to six countries - according to a report from the State Export Control Service of Ukraine on the transfers of certain types of weapons in 2017.

According to the data in the report, in 2017 Ukraine exported 16 armored vehicles, namely 16 "Oplot" tanks to Thailand; more than 17,000 units of individual firearms as well as more than 800 units of small arms to the United States, Uzbekistan, Jordan, Mongolia and Türkiye.
The main importer of Ukrainian assault weapons and small arms in 2017, according to the report, was the United States. It purchased 15,040 submachine guns and machine guns, 790 anti-tank guns and portable grenade launchers. Another 2,000 machine guns and submachine guns were delivered to Uzbekistan. Jordan received 22 mobile anti-tank guns and grenade launchers, 2 portable grenade launchers and grenade launchers and 1 revolver; Mongolia - 10 carbines; Türkiye - 3 mobile rocket launchers.
