In response to opinions that Hoai Linh is old, has lost his form, and is not as good an actor as before, the comedian does not feel pressured. "People say that I am past my prime, no longer the king of the box office, and I don't care. The time to ride a horse and shoot an arrow is over, the time to get off a horse and pick up rubber bands to shoot flies is over. I can shoot anything, just shoot in a different way," he joked. "Every year I make a Tet movie because I want the audience to laugh heartily when they reunite with their families during the spring. I never think that my movie has to be successful, win in revenue or anything. Not to say it in vain, but really, I always feel guilty for not being able to thank all the fans who have supported me over the years. When I finished building the ancestral temple, I was very tired but still tried to appear, greet and take pictures with the audience. Because it is the fans who gave me everything and raised me to this day," said Hoai Linh.
