The difficult situation of the family of a child with congenital albinism
(Baonghean.vn) - Suffering from congenital albinism, poor health, and frequent illness, recently Cao Thi Kieu Anh (2 years old) in block 3, Hung Nguyen town had an accident, suffered severe burns, and had to undergo surgery twice.
Meanwhile, the family's circumstances are extremely difficult, and they do not have the conditions to continue treating the child.
Kieu Anh's family situation is extremely difficult. Her grandfather was affected by wartime toxic chemicals, so he often got sick and had asthma attacks. Her father, Cao Van Mui (born in 1979), is a construction worker. Last year, he had a work accident, fell from the second floor to the ground, suffered a collapsed spine, spinal cord edema, and had to undergo surgery at Viet Duc Hospital - Hanoi.
After the surgery, he could neither sit nor walk and had to continue treatment. His daily medical expenses amounted to nearly 2 million VND. His family had to borrow money from relatives and the bank, totaling more than 100 million VND to pay for his treatment. However, according to the doctor's instructions, he needed to continue treatment with a second surgery, but his family had to give up because they could not find 50 million VND. Mr. Mui had to endure being disabled.

Her mother, Pham Thi Huyen (born in 1984), works in the fields and earns extra income by selling green tea, earning about 50,000 VND each day. The couple has 2 children, Kieu Anh is the second child, and was born with albinism. Her eyes cannot see clearly in the light, so all daily activities are very difficult. Her health is very weak, and she often has to go to the hospital.
During the days at home, she often cried, and her grandmother was old and weak, so it was very difficult to take care of her. Feeling sorry for her sick and weak grandchild, her uncle sometimes took her out to play in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, her uncle was also blind in one eye, so one time, while taking her out on a motorbike, Kieu Anh fell and was burned by the exhaust pipe on the right side of her face.
The father had an accident last year and had to be treated, and his debts were still piling up. The daughter had an accident, and Mr. Mui's family had to borrow money to take her to the National Burn Hospital in Hanoi for emergency treatment. After two surgeries, Kieu Anh was out of danger, but she was still in pain and often cried. Both skin graft surgeries to heal her eye wound cost nearly 40 million VND. To have money to pay for her treatment, Kieu Anh's mother had to borrow money, go without food, and save money to buy food for her. The doctors, nurses, and patients' families at the hospital sympathized with her, calling for donations and buying food for the mother and daughter to get through the days in the hospital.
The third surgery is expected to be quite complicated, costing over 30 million VND. Mr. Mui and his wife are worried about where they will get the money to take care of their child next August...

Since Kieu Anh was burned, her mother had to take time off to take care of her and her sick husband. The couple has no source of income, while the bank debt is up to 40 million VND, with monthly interest payments. Therefore, the whole family has to rely on their elderly grandparents.
Mr. Nguyen Van Ngo - Secretary of the Party Cell Block 3 - Hung Nguyen Town said: The family situation of Mr. and Mrs. Mui - Huyen is very difficult. The neighbors are very sympathetic, have wholeheartedly helped, and lent money to the family to take care of their child's medical treatment. Currently, to operate on Kieu Anh's eyes, the couple still needs a large amount of money, so they really need the community's help.
