Practical activities to support the poor in localities
(Baonghean.vn) - On April 11, organizations, units, localities and philanthropists had many meaningful activities to support poor households and poor students in the area.
* Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quynh Luu districtCoordinated with An Hoa commune to organize the groundbreaking ceremony and give money to support the construction of charity houses for poor households who are parishioners of Tan An hamlet, An Hoa commune.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi An (87 years old) lost her husband early after a sea trip; she now lives alone in a dilapidated house that she cannot afford to repair. Given Mrs. An’s difficult circumstances, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quynh Luu district supported Mrs. An’s family to start building a charity house.
The new 2-room house has a total value of 60 million VND, of which the district Fatherland Front supported 30 million VND, the rest was supported by the locality and neighbors. This is a meaningful activity to welcome the 19th District Fatherland Front Congress, term 2019-2024.

The delegation visited and presented 2 water filters to Nam Can Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, and over 1,000 pens and many clothes to 4 schools in Nam Can commune.
Next, the delegation organized the awarding of 6 local breeding cows, each worth 13 million VND, to 6 poor households with sufficient conditions to care for and develop livestock in Nam Can commune.
The gifts and pets given this time are worth nearly 100 million VND.

In addition to providing financial support to the children at the rate of 500,000 VND per month (each year the unit supports the children with a total amount of 42 million VND), the unit also regularly sends officers and soldiers to each family to visit, encourage, tutor, guide, and help the children in their studies.
In addition, the unit's officers and soldiers also care about helping the children's families clean up the environment, do production work; give extra bags, books, blankets, school supplies, etc. during holidays and Tet.

Nguyen Thi Thao (born in 2005), in Lien Minh hamlet, Minh Son commune, has a particularly difficult family situation. Her family is poor, her father is often sick, and Thao has had a serious illness since she was young. Every month, she has to go to Hanoi for 10 days for treatment, and her health is very poor.
Sharing Thao's especially difficult situation, the group "Do Luong shares love" gave her 4 million VND in support.

Here, 33 disabled people and people who are unable to walk were given and instructed on how to use wheelchairs. The number of wheelchairs given this time was sponsored by the Humanitarian Wheelchair Organization, the Giving Back Childhood Organization and the Humanitarian Organization for Children of Vietnam.

Gas tank explosion while fishing, 6 Nghe An crew members seriously injured
(Baonghean.vn) - While fishing at sea, a gas tank on a fishing boat of Nghe An fishermen exploded. The boat owner and crew were seriously injured.

Previously, at around 5:00 a.m. on March 10, 2019, fishing boat NA 91286 owned by Mr. Ngo Xuan Truong, residing in Hai Binh block, Nghi Hai ward, suddenly had an accident due to a cooking gas tank explosion on board, injuring 6 people, 4 of whom were seriously injured.
Immediately after the incident, the Fatherland Front Committee of Nghi Hai Ward and the ward's organizations and unions called on agencies, units, and philanthropists to support the families of the crew members in distress, in order to share the loss of life and property caused by the accident.
On March 12, the Nghi Hai Ward Fatherland Front Committee presented the first batch of 104 million VND and on the morning of April 12, the amount of 174 million VND. Thus, through 2 batches, the Nghi Hai Ward Fatherland Front Committee has presented a total of 278 million VND to support the families of the sailors in distress.

Ms. Ha Thi Hang is currently a teacher at Mon Son 2 Kindergarten, raising 2 children alone, in difficult economic circumstances, having had to live with her parents for many years.
With the help and support of trade unions at all levels and the family's efforts, after more than 6 months of construction, a new level 4 house was built with a value of more than 100 million VND, of which the Con Cuong District Labor Federation supported 30 million VND from the "Trade Union Shelter" fund.
