Gratitude activities to commemorate War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27) in localities
(Baonghean.vn) - On July 23, a number of localities and units organized activities to give gifts and provide free medicine to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2019).
*Association for Supporting Families of Martyrscoordinated to organize the donation of 50 million VND, and started the construction of a "House of Gratitude" for Ms. Hoang Thi Thich, mother of martyr Hoang Ba Thiem, in hamlet 11, Hung Trung commune, Hung Nguyen district.
Mrs. Hoang Thi Thich’s family has 5 children, martyr Thiem is the eldest son. Currently, 4 of her children have passed away, she lives with her youngest daughter in a level 4 house, seriously degraded. Mrs. Thich’s family is in the difficult situation of the commune.

The house has an area of nearly 50 m2was built on the land of martyr Thiem's family, with a total cost of more than 100 million VND, of which the source of funding was drawn from the welfare fund and contributions of staff and workers by the Vietnam Cooperative Bank - Nghe An Branch, supporting 50 million VND. In addition, local mass organizations and neighbors supported the construction work. The project is expected to be completed before September 2.

In Minh Hop commune, the delegation visited and presented gifts to war invalid Pham Hai Luan, infected with toxic chemicals, in Minh Thanh hamlet; Mrs. Truong Thi Man in Minh Ho hamlet and Mr. Le Van Son, both infected with toxic chemicals, in Minh Tan hamlet; visited and presented gifts worth 2 million VND from the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council - People's Committee - Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province to Mrs. Duong Thi Niem, the wife of a martyr.
Next, the delegation went to Nghia Xuan commune to visit two women, Truong Thi Nha in Dot Tan hamlet and Phan Thi Vanh in Thanh Xuan hamlet, mothers of martyrs; and presented gifts to 2/3 wounded soldier Tran Trong Bon in Lien Xuan hamlet. In Tho Hop commune, the delegation visited and presented gifts to two 4/4 wounded soldiers, Truong Huy Lieu in Soi Duoi hamlet and Ngo Xuan Vinh in Lien Tan hamlet.

This amount is taken from the gratitude fund of Nghia Dan district; to help families of war invalids, sick soldiers, and people with revolutionary contributions overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

*Women's Union of Nghe An Border GuardsCoordinated with the Women's Union of Cua Lo town to visit and give gifts to policy families and poor women in the two border communes of Bac Ly and My Ly, Ky Son district.

The delegation visited and presented 85 gifts to 85 poor women members of Bac Ly commune; presented 3 pairs of breeding goats worth 10 million VND to 3 disadvantaged families of members in Bac Ly commune. The delegation also presented 10 gifts to 10 policy families in My Ly commune; with a total value of over 65 million VND.
This amount was supported by the Women's Union of Nghe An Border Guard and women of Cua Lo town, calling for contributions from agencies, organizations and philanthropists.
On this occasion, the Women's Union of Squadron 2 and the Border Guard Station of Cua Lo Port also presented 5 gifts to 5 families of soldiers in difficult circumstances at My Ly Border Guard Station.
In addition, cadres and women's union members of Cua Lo town and the Women's Union of Nghe An Border Guards also organized propaganda to prevent and combat child marriage and incestuous marriage; and cultural and artistic exchanges with cadres and soldiers of My Ly Border Guard Station.

At the Commune Health Station, more than 200 people, including wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs' families, meritorious people receiving benefits, former Youth Volunteers, and War Veterans in Tan Thanh Commune, were examined by doctors and nurses of Military Hospital 4 for internal medicine, general ultrasound, electrocardiogram... and given advice on health care, proper nutrition, personal and community hygiene; prescribed and dispensed free medicine.
In cases of serious illness, policy beneficiaries are instructed by doctors to be transferred to the hospital for timely treatment and care.

On this occasion, the Logistics Department of Military Region 4 and Military Hospital 4 presented 20 gifts (each worth 500,000 VND) and Yen Thanh district also presented 20 gifts to policy families in Tan Thanh commune (each gift worth 300,000 VND).
