Learn how Japanese people keep their bodies warm in winter
Japanese people eat hot pot, bathe in onsen, use electric heaters, temperature-controlled toilets, and place heating pads on their bodies... to keep warm in the cold winter.
Heating table
According to Japan Explorer, the wooden table is covered with a thick blanket and has an electric heating system underneath. Families can use this table as a sleeping place, a working desk, a dining table and a reception table.
Onsen bath
Not only does it keep you warm in the winter, bathing in onsen (hot springs) is also a way for Japanese people to maintain their health. The hot springs come in many colors such as green, pink and red, and are said to cure many diseases.

Warm toilet
Even if the toilet is heated, you will still feel cold when sitting on the toilet. In Japan, toilet seats can be adjusted to a warm temperature as desired.
Window coverings, heat-insulating films
To prevent cold air from entering the room, people use window covers or heat-insulating films. Using thick curtains is also commonly used by the Japanese.
Eat hot pot
Winter in Japan is indispensable for hot pot, the ingredients usually include meat, fish, vegetables... cooked in thick-bottomed ceramic pots. On cold days, Japanese people often gather together to eat hot pot to keep their bodies warm.

Heat retention patch
These patches can be placed in pockets, stomachs, gloves, between layers of clothing to keep the body warm for about an hour or more depending on the type.
Thick tights
Many stores in Japan specialize in thick winter socks and tights. Many can be as thick as 200 denier.
Electric mat, electric blanket
In the living room and bedroom, Japanese people often spread out mats and sit directly on the floor. In winter, many Japanese families buy electric mats and blankets to keep their feet warm.
Thermal clothing
The clothes are designed by the Japanese fashion brand to retain heat, helping the wearer always feel warm even when wearing only light clothing.
