Candidates wishing to apply for admission to police universities must fully comply with the admission requirements of the Ministry of Education and Training as well as very specific requirements of the industry.

Unified preliminary selection focal point

The preliminary selection for the People's Public Security (CAND) schools is unified in terms of the preliminary selection focal point.

Specifically, for localities with the same police and fire prevention and fighting police of provinces and centrally run cities, the primary recruitment focal point is the provincial and centrally run city police.

Fire prevention and fighting police of provinces and centrally-run cities only organize preliminary selection for candidates who are officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers on duty at their units.

Good conduct, no failure

To be admitted to the police academy, candidates must have good conduct and average or above average academic performance.during the school years. No preliminary selection of students who repeat a grade during the high school years.

For non-commissioned officers and soldiers on duty in the People's Public Security, citizens who have completed their obligation to join the People's Public Security, completed their military service, and completed their duties every year, have not violated discipline at the level of reprimand or higher.

Schools will not process admission for candidates who violate the commitment in their self-declaration.

Do not hire obese people

Candidates with myopia who register to apply to the Police Academy must commit to being cured upon admission.

In particular, police schools also evaluate the health standards of candidates through the BMI index (calculated according to the formula BMI = weight/height).²₎to eliminate obese candidates. Candidates' BMI standard must be from 17.9 (for men), 18.02 (for women) to under 30 (for both men and women).

Bonus points halved

The direct university admission standards of police schools are separate and higher than the general regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training as well as the specific regulations of other universities.

Accordingly, direct admission to schools is only for students participating in the national team selection exam for the International Olympics.

Candidates participating in the national team selection exam for the International Olympiad in Mathematics and Physics will be admitted directly to all police schools; candidates in Chemistry will be admitted directly to the Fire Prevention and Fighting University; and candidates in Medicine will be admitted directly to medical training according to the quota of the Ministry of Public Security.

Candidates who win national excellent student awards in all subjects - including first prize - but are not on the national team participating in the International Olympic competition - are not eligible for direct admission to schools.

These candidates will only receive bonus points when registering for a major that has the same entrance exam subject as the prize-winning subject. However, this year's bonus points will be halved compared to 2017.

This bonus score is reduced in proportion to the reduction in regional priority points according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. Candidates who win first, second, third, and encouragement prizes in national excellent students will be awarded 1 point, 0.75 points, 0.5 points, and 0.25 points respectively in the admission score.

In case a candidate wins multiple prizes, only the highest prize will be awarded bonus points.
