Candidates wishing to apply for admission to police universities must fully comply with the admission requirements of the Ministry of Education and Training, along with the very specific requirements of the ngành.
Unify the preliminary selection process.
The preliminary selection process for admission to police academies is standardized under a single point of contact.
Specifically, for localities that have both a provincial or centrally-administered city police force and a fire department, the unified point of contact for preliminary selection will be the provincial or centrally-administered city police force.
The fire departments of provinces and centrally-administered cities only conduct preliminary selection for candidates who are officers, non-commissioned officers, or conscripted soldiers serving in their respective units.
Good conduct, no failing grade.
To be considered for admission to police academies, candidates must have a good or excellent conduct rating and an average or above-average academic performance.throughout the school years. Students who have repeated a year during their high school years will not be considered for preliminary selection.
For non-commissioned officers and conscripted soldiers in the People's Public Security Force, citizens who have completed their service in the People's Public Security Force, or completed their military service, during their time in service, they must have consistently performed their duties well or better each year, and not committed any disciplinary violations at the level of reprimand or higher.
Schools will not process admissions for applicants who violate the declarations made in their personal information forms.
No obese people will be hired.
Candidates with nearsightedness who apply to police academies must commit to having their vision corrected if they are accepted.
In particular, police academies also assess the health standards of applicants through their BMI (calculated using the formula BMI = weight/height).2)To exclude obese candidates, candidates must meet the BMI standard of 17.9 (for men), 18.02 (for women) and below 30 (for both men and women).
Reward points are halved.
The direct admission standards for police academies are distinct and higher than the general regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, as well as higher than the specific regulations of other universities.
Accordingly, direct admission to these schools is only for students who participate in the national team selection exam for the International Olympiad.
Specifically, candidates who participate in the national team selection exam for the International Mathematical and Physics Olympiads are directly admitted to all police schools; those who pass the Chemistry exam are directly admitted to the Fire Prevention and Fighting University, and those who pass the Biology exam are directly admitted to medical training programs according to the quotas set by the Ministry of Public Security.
Students who win national-level awards in academic subjects – including first prize – but are not part of the national team selected for the International Olympiad, are not eligible for direct admission to universities.
These candidates only receive bonus points if they apply to a major where the entrance exam subject matches the subject in which they won the award. However, the bonus points this year have also been halved compared to 2017.
These bonus points are reduced proportionally to the reduction in regional priority points as stipulated by the Ministry of Education and Training. Candidates who win first, second, third, or honorable mention prizes in the national excellent student competition will receive 1 point, 0.75 points, 0.5 points, and 0.25 points respectively added to their admission score.
If a contestant wins multiple awards, they will only receive bonus points for the highest-ranking award.
