On the morning of May 14, the Provincial Police Youth Union coordinated with the Youth Union of the Road and Railway Traffic Police Department (PC67) to register electric motorbikes for students of Vinh University High School for the Gifted.

According to statistics, the whole province currently has about 30,000 electric motorbikes, of which 16,000 have been registered. From July 1, electric motorbikes circulating without registration will be fined. To facilitate students to register electric motorbikes before June 30, the PC67 Youth Union has advised the unit's leaders to carry out free registration of electric motorbikes for high school students in the whole province.

According to the new regulations in Circular 54 of the Ministry of Public Security, when going through registration procedures, electric motorbike owners only need to fill in information on the available declaration form with the household registration book, a photocopy of the household registration book and ID card or citizen identification card for comparison.

Lieutenant Vo Van Son - Secretary of the Youth Union of PC67 said: "A large number of unregistered electric motorbikes are students of high schools. Therefore, going to schools to propagate and disseminate regulations, stamping the frame number and engine number to complete registration procedures will help students reduce the time spent on procedures and waiting, especially during the period when they are preparing for semester exams and high school graduation exams. The procedures for registering electric motorbikes for students are completely free of charge."

From June 30, when registering electric motorbikes, vehicle owners must present documents proving the origin, import documents or factory documents (for domestically produced vehicles), value-added invoices from the vehicle seller and pay registration tax according to regulations as for registering other 2-stroke and 4-stroke motorbikes.

From July 1 onwards, if unregistered electric motorbikes are still circulating on the road, they will be fined and handled according to regulations.

In addition to 12 high schools in Vinh city, from now until June 30, the Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Province and the Traffic Police Teams of the District, City and Town Police in the whole province will come to schools to register free electric motorbikes for students.
