Excellent students of Nghe An province are given a maximum of 1.5 bonus points when taking the 10th grade entrance exam.
This is one of the notable points in this year's 10th grade entrance exam. The bonus points have encouraged 9th grade students in their learning and training process.
On April 18, the Department of Education and Training issued Document No. 916/SGD&DT-GDTrH on instructions for admission to the first grades of junior high school and high school for the 2025-2026 school year, including instructions on subjects eligible for direct admission and those encouraged to receive priority points for grade 10.
Accordingly, there are 5 subjects admitted directly.Grade 10High school includes: Boarding school students for ethnic minorities; Students from very small ethnic groups belonging to 16 ethnic groups: Cong, Mang, Pu Peo, Si La, Co Lao, Bo Y, La Ha, Ngai, Chut, O Du, Brau, Ro Mam, Lo Lo, Lu, Pa Then, La Hu; Students with disabilities studying in integrated education; Junior high school students who have won national prizes organized by the Ministry of Education and Training or in coordination with ministries and ministerial-level agencies organized nationwide for competitions, exams, and contests on culture, arts, sports; scientific and technical research competitions; Junior high school students who have won prizes in international competitions selected by the Minister of Education and Training.

According to regulations, qualified students are admitted directly to high schools in the district, city or town where they studied junior high school.
Also according to the Department's instructions, this year, the Department will add 1.5 - 2 priority points for subjects such as children of martyrs, children of war invalids, sick soldiers with lost working capacity; children of people granted "Certificate of beneficiaries of policies like war invalids, where the person granted the Certificate of beneficiaries of policies like war invalids has a working capacity reduction of 81% or more"; children of resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals; children of heroes of the armed forces... In addition, cases where the father or mother is an ethnic minority; ethnic minorities; students living and studying in areas with especially difficult socio-economic conditions will also be given 1 priority point.
A notable point in this year's 10th grade entrance exam is that bonus points will be given to junior high school students who win provincial-level prizes organized by the Department of Education and Training or in coordination with departments and branches organized on a provincial scale for national-level competitions organized or jointly organized by the Ministry of Education and Training. Priority prizes include: Provincial Excellent Student Competition for Grade 9; Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival; Provincial Science and Technology Competition for High School Students. According to regulations, students who win First Prize will receive 1.5 points; Second Prize will receive 1.0 points and Third Prize will receive 0.5 points.
The above priority and incentive points are calculated on a 10-point scale and added to the total admission score. Students who win two or more provincial prizes will only receive bonus points for the highest prize. If a student has both priority and incentive points, both will be added.

Speaking more about the new points of this year's exam, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Head of Secondary Education Department - Department of Education and Training said: This is the first time that students taking the 10th grade entrance exam will be given bonus points based on the results of the excellent student exam and other provincial exams. The implementation is to comply with the guidance of Circular 30/2024/TT-BGDDT promulgating the Regulations on admission to junior high school and high school. That will also promptly motivate and encourage students and schools in the process of discovering and nurturing excellent students and creating motivation for them to make efforts, try hard, and practice in their studies.
In the 2024-2025 school year, the whole province has 1,289 students registered to take the provincial excellent student exam for grade 9.
As a result, 45 students won first prize, 365 students won second prize, 222 students won third prize and 276 students won encouragement prize.
