5th grade student struck by lightning on the street
(Baonghean.vn) On the afternoon of May 9, on the way home from school, Nguyen Vinh Cong, a 5th grade student in My Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, was struck and killed by lightning.
At that time, Yen Thanh district suddenly had heavy rain with thunder and lightning. On the way back from school, about 1km from home, Cong was struck by lightning and lost consciousness on the spot. At that moment, many people rushed to give him first aid but it was too late.
In the afternoon of the same day, the local government of My Thanh commune along with other organizations came to encourage and visit Cong's family. It is known that Cong's family is in difficult circumstances, his father is working abroad.
The meteorological agency said that this is the time of changing seasons, so unusual disturbances such as lightning, storms, and tornadoes often appear. Last month, in Nam Kim commune, Nam Dan district, two people riding a motorbike on the road were also struck and killed by lightning.
