Nghe An students won Bronze Medal at International Chemistry Olympiad
(Baonghean.vn) - According to newly received information, at the 2018 International Chemistry Olympiad, student Phan Nhat Duat of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted won the Bronze Medal.
The 50th International Chemistry Olympiad 2018 was held in the Czech Republic and the Republic of Slovakia. The competition was attended by 304 contestants from 82 countries and territories. The Vietnamese national team of 4 contestants all won medals with 1 Gold Medal, 2 Silver Medals and 1 Bronze Medal.
The Bronze Medal belongs to Phan Nhat Duat, a 12th grade student at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Nghe An province.

The remaining medals went to students from the High School for Gifted Students of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Lam Son High School for Gifted Students, Thanh Hoa province and Le Hong Phong High School for Gifted Students, Nam Dinh province.
Previously, Duat was not the best student in the Chemistry class at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted and had never won any excellent student title during his junior high school years. However, from a student who was eliminated from the national team in grade 11, Duat made an effort to win first prize in Chemistry at the National Excellent Student Competition for grade 12.
Notably, from 7th place in national achievements, Duat rose to become one of the three best students in the selection round for the Vietnamese Chemistry team to attend the International Chemistry Olympiad in the Czech Republic.

As planned, the Ministry of Education and Training will welcome and congratulate the achievements of the delegation participating in the 2018 International Chemistry Olympiad at Noi Bai International Airport at 6:30 a.m. on July 30, 2018.
