Returning from the competition, Huy Minh said he was very happy to have completed a goal during his time at school. Having participated and won the Special Prize in the 3rd Traffic Competition for Students, Huy Minh said he was quite calm when performing from the first and second qualifying rounds to the final round.

“In the final round, the Organizing Committee will provide a photo frame cut into 12 boxes corresponding to 12 questions. Each contestant will choose a puzzle piece to answer within 30 seconds. After answering all 12 puzzle pieces, the contestants will answer the keyword related to the main image behind. I think I was lucky to find the keyword related to the image,” Huy Minh shared.

Talking about the preparation process for the contest, Huy Minh said that he only spent more than 1 day to review the usual theoretical knowledge. For Huy Minh, knowledge about traffic must be applied in practice, not learned from books.

“Every day, when participating in traffic on the road, I observe traffic signs, lines, signals... and then refer to the knowledge I have read to apply and remember. In my opinion, that is the most effective way to learn,” said the 17-year-old student. In addition, Huy Minh also regularly practices reflexes and quick thinking skills through an online learning software as well as updates information related to traffic issues.

According to Huy Minh, participating in the contest has made him more aware and gained more knowledge about traffic safety. But above all, he has met and interacted with many friends from all over the country and learned a lot from them.

One thing few people know about Huy Minh is that before winning the Special Prize in the 4th Traffic Competition for Students, he had failed in 9 consecutive competitions.

“In less than a year, I failed 9 times in a row. Especially the failure in the competition that I put a lot of effort into made me feel very discouraged and negative. However, I thought I had to pick myself up and try again in new competitions to regain my confidence. And this time I succeeded,” Huy Minh said with a smile.

Currently, Huy Minh has just finished grade 11 and is preparing to enter grade 12 with many important competitions ahead. The 17-year-old boy's current goal is to study well to re-join the national Math-IT team and get high scores in the university entrance exam to get closer to his dream of becoming an educator in Vietnam.
