Students of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted won Gold Medals at the International Math Olympiad
This is one of two Gold Medals of the Vietnamese student delegation participating in the International Mathematical Olympiad in 2025. The person who brought home this prestigious medal is Vo Trong Khai - a student of class 12A1.
This morning (July 19), teacher Cao Thi Lan Thanh - Principal of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted said: Student Vo Trong Khai excellently won the Gold Medal at theInternational Mathematical Olympiadyear 2025
Vo Trong Khai is a student with outstanding achievements right from the beginning of the school year, with a record of 20/20 points in the entrance exam to the specialized Math class. He is also the first student of the school to participate in the National Excellent Student Competition right from grade 10. In grade 10 and grade 11, he won the second prize in the National Excellent Student Competition. In grade 12, he excellently won the first prize. In all 3 years of high school, Vo Trong Khai was selected to participate in the second round to select the national team to compete in the International Math Olympiad.
The 66th International Mathematical Olympiad took place from July 10 to 20, 2025 in Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia, bringing together more than 639 contestants from 113 countries and territories.
The Vietnamese student delegation had 6 members participating in the competition. As a result, all 6 students won medals, including: 2 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals and 1 Bronze Medal.

- Nguyen Dang Dung - grade 12, High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences, University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi: Silver Medal.
- Nguyen Dinh Tung - grade 11, High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences, University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi: Silver Medal.
- Le Phan Duc Man - grade 12, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Ho Chi Minh City: Silver Medal.
- Student Truong Thanh Xuan - grade 11, Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted, Bac Ninh province: Bronze Medal.
With a total score of 188, the Vietnamese delegation ranked 9th out of 113 countries and territories participating in this year's competition, after the delegations of China (1), the US (2), South Korea (3), Poland and Japan (4), Israel (6), India (7), Singapore (8).
