(Baonghean.vn) - The hot weather in recent days has affected the studies and exam preparation of many students. Meanwhile, this is a crucial time for final-year students with many important exams coming up.

The weather in Que Phong district has been extremely hot in recent days, with temperatures reaching over 40 degrees Celsius at many times. While students in grades 6, 7, and 8 have completed their end-of-year exams, grade 9 students are still focusing on reviewing for the entrance exam to grade 10. At Que Phong Ethnic Boarding Junior High School, in addition to preparing for the entrance exam to Que Phong High School, many students have also registered to take the exam for the provincial Ethnic Boarding High School, making the preparation process very strenuous. To ensure the health of students, the school's schedule has been adjusted during these days. Students can start classes earlier in the morning, but afternoon classes can be moved back to after 3 PM and extended until 6 PM to make learning more convenient for them. On cooler days, teachers and students extend the class schedule to its maximum length, including Saturdays and Sundays. Photo: Dinh Tuyen
A unique feature of the Ethnic Minority Boarding High School is that all students eat, live, and study within the school premises. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngan, the school's Vice Principal, shared: "Besides adjusting the teaching schedule, we pay attention to the students' nutrition, supplementing their meals. For students with limited academic ability or those needing extra tutoring to prepare for the boarding school entrance exam, we assign teachers to provide additional tutoring in the evenings." At the No. 2 Ethnic Boarding High School in the province, evening self-study sessions have become commonplace. However, at this time, the evening study time is longer as students are focusing on the final preparations for the 2023 high school graduation exam. After four mock exams, the school's results are quite promising, and the school is striving to maintain its position in the top 3 in the province in the upcoming exam. Photo: Dinh Tuyen
Due to the hot weather, even in the evenings, students bring extra bottles of water. During these days, the school also changes the menu frequently for boarding students. Photo: Dinh Tuyen
In addition to the six ceiling and wall fans, some students also brought small portable fans to class to combat the heat. Photo: Dinh Tuyen
Besides electric fans, many children also have to use paper fans as a backup. Photo: Dinh Tuyen
Student Nguyen Thi Linh Ngoc was the top scorer in Group B of the school's most recent mock exam with nearly 28 points. However, to achieve her goal of being admitted to Hanoi Medical University, Linh Ngoc says she still has a long way to go to conquer her dream. The intense studying sometimes makes Ngoc forget the heat and hardship. Photo: Dinh Tuyen

Besides focusing on exam preparation in class, Mr. Le Viet Phuong, a biology teacher, went to the dormitories to provide additional support to the candidates. This year, about 50% of the students at Ethnic Boarding High School No. 2 chose the Natural Sciences subject combination. Among them, about 20 students aspire to attend medical universities, posing a significant challenge for both teachers and students. Photo: Dinh Tuyen
Amidst the strenuous exam preparation sessions, the students of class 12A2 at Ethnic Boarding High School No. 2 still managed to find some relaxing moments, celebrating their homeroom teacher's birthday. These will be memorable moments for them in their final month of high school, and the love for their teachers, friends, and school will give them the strength to strive and achieve their goals.
