Learning from Uncle Ho: Following an example must be real, not just creating an image.

Throughout his life, President Ho Chi Minh set a noble example, dedicating his entire life to the revolutionary cause of our people and the people of the world. In the eulogy of the Party Central Committee, it was affirmed: He lived a glorious life, full of hardships and sacrifices, extremely noble and rich, extremely pure and beautiful.

50 years have passed, rereading President Ho Chi Minh's Testament, each person, especially party cadres and members, is more imbued with his teachings, striving to cultivate and train themselves, to constantly improve themselves. Setting an example is truly self-cultivation towards what is good and noble, and also preventing mistakes.

Over the years, studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style has been a vivid expression of respect for Uncle Ho, belief in his revolutionary path and career, so that each person can live and work better.

Implementing Directive No. 05 of the Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, over the past 3 years, hundreds of thousands of exemplary collectives and individuals have been rewarded. Notably, last year, Binh Phuoc province rewarded and commended 787 collectives and individuals at all levels; Dong Thap province rewarded and commended 3,610 collectives and individuals...

Studying and following Uncle Ho, Professor, Doctor Nguyen Thi Ngoc Phuong, former Director of Tu Du Hospital, has researched and made many great contributions to the country's medicine, bringing miracles to many families in Vietnam.

Sharing her views on medical ethics, Professor, Doctor Nguyen Thi Ngoc Phuong said: “I think medical ethics is as Uncle Ho taught, “A good doctor is like a mother”. A good doctor means a good doctor. When Uncle Ho taught, “A good doctor must be proficient in his profession, have solid knowledge, and be skilled. A doctor is like a kind mother, so don’t blame me for being bad and affecting the health and lives of the people”.

In his Testament, President Ho Chi Minh advised that after the victory, the first thing to do was to rectify the Party. Following his instructions, the Party focused on Party building and rectification. Resolution 4 of the 12th Central Committee proposed comprehensive and synchronous solutions to strengthen Party building and rectification, and strictly handle erring cadres and Party members. Along with tightening discipline, order and laws, the Party issued many documents on exemplary responsibilities, especially the regulations of the 8th Central Committee Conference of the 12th tenure.

Setting an example for cadres and party members is to show gratitude to Uncle Ho, pride and willingness to follow him. Setting an example of loyalty to revolutionary ideals, serving the Fatherland and the people throughout one's life, and best completing assigned tasks.

Following his teachings, Party Central Committee member, Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Manh Hien said: Set an example of morality, pure lifestyle; of courage, responsibility, and faith. Setting an example must be substantial, avoid formality, try to create an image, must be truly genuine in work, the life of each leader must be simple and plain like Uncle Ho's life.

“If you want to set an example, you have to say what you do. I only keep in mind one thing: whatever you say, you have to do it properly. Thinking and acting must put the common interest above all, from personnel work to the process of directing the implementation of tasks, especially having the mindset to improve the overall development of the province. My wish is that the Party must be strong, the government must act, and words must go hand in hand with actions,” said Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien.

From studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle to regulating the exemplary responsibility of cadres and party members, especially high-ranking leaders, is a very important development step in Party building and rectification.

The responsibility of setting an example is promoted, from Party regulations to the voluntary implementation of each individual, to foster the Party's vanguard spirit and the noble qualities of cadres and Party members, to strengthen solidarity and unity within the Party and the close relationship between the Party and the people.

Each person, through work and life, setting a good example is also a source of pride for themselves, to constantly improve themselves. Setting a true example is self-cultivation towards what is good and noble, and also a prevention of mistakes.

Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen Trong Phuc, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, affirmed: "Reading Uncle Ho's Testament and thinking about the responsibility to set an example, I think that each person who acts according to their conscience and responsibility will certainly create positive changes according to the regulations on setting an example at the 8th Central Conference. If 5 million Party members are just average, not putting all their heart and enthusiasm into their work, they will not create any changes."

Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle has become a voluntary action, a command from the heart of every cadre, party member and Vietnamese citizen, in every revolutionary period, in every job, every thought and action.

Uncle Ho's life, career and example always have profound educational significance. The more we love and respect Uncle Ho, the more we must strive to set an example, cultivate, train and perfect ourselves. In particular, always remember his reminder when he was alive: "Party members go first, the country follows", that is the sincere compliment of the people and also the responsibility to set an example for cadres and party members./.
