First, the Academy focuses on innovating the content and training programs for the subjects. For the training subjects being officers of regiments, brigades, and air defense and air force divisions, the time for theoretical study is reduced and the time for practical training is increased at command posts at all levels and in specialized lecture halls. For final year students in the majors of air force, missiles, radar, and air defense artillery, the quality of practice and exercises is focused on improving.
Along with the innovation of training content, programs and processes, the Academy promotes innovation of training methods according to 3 criteria: equipping learning methods; promoting learners' initiative; using information and communication technology in teaching and learning activities. In particular, it focuses on enhancing the responsibility of lecturers; learners' self-study and research capacity; building a good learning movement and environment. At the same time, accelerate the transition to credit-based training, first of all for postgraduates, to create favorable conditions for learners to accumulate knowledge, to be able to transfer to other levels and fields of study in the Army or transfer to universities in the national and international education system.
Along with that, the Academy attaches importance to innovating exams, tests, and evaluating students' learning outcomes in the direction of promoting practical capacity, applying theory to practice, in accordance with the requirements of subjects and majors. To achieve effectiveness, the Academy continues to direct innovation in exam questions, implementing diverse forms of exams and tests; at the same time, promoting the role of the Examination Board and ensuring the quality of education and training in inspecting and checking exam supervision and grading, ensuring objective, fair, and accurate assessment of education and training results.

The Academy pays special attention to the planning, training, fostering, and using of a team of lecturers and managers who meet the standards early, meeting the requirements of education and training. To accelerate the standardization of the teaching staff, the Academy actively innovates the content, programs, and training methods, fostering lecturers and managers according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training; implements many measures, combining on-site training and joint training with other training institutions; between improving theoretical knowledge at the School and fostering practical knowledge at the unit; prioritizing the selection and training of lecturers in majors such as: operational training, navigation, radar, aviation engineering, and command and staff at the tactical and campaign levels.
On the other hand, the Academy actively coordinates with functional agencies and units of the Service to send officers and lecturers for training at home and abroad; to go on practical assignments, visit and study equipment conversion, and conduct practical research at units and factories in the Service, etc.

In addition, the Academy has promoted the compilation of textbooks and documents for training and education. In the 2014-2015 school year alone, the Academy compiled 06 new documents on Air Defense and Air Force Combat Regulations; 14 teaching materials, 02 electronic textbooks; wrote practical lessons on air defense artillery equipment at the Academy of Air Defense - Air Force; teaching software, such as: C125-2TM missile control officer training software, aviation simulation equipment on Su-30MK aircraft...
Along with that, the Academy deploys the application of information technology, simulation techniques, promotes scientific research, cooperates with a number of technical institutes and companies to implement projects serving training and education, such as: Command system for air defense and air force divisions and regiments; simulates some types of warning radars, flight assurance radars and builds a Flight Command Crew Training Center...
