» Priest Dang Huu Nam and Nguyen Dinh Thuc betrayed Jesus
» Veteran Quynh Luu exposes and requests the law to handle Dang Huu Nam
The message of the Veterans Association signed by Chairman Nguyen Dinh Minh stated: During these days, people across the country are organizing many activities with practical deeds to express gratitude to compatriots and soldiers who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, creating the historic victory of April 30, 1975. Over the past 42 years, the great historical value of the victory of April 30, 1975 has brought peace, independence, cooperation and development to the Vietnamese people and has been recognized and honored by the whole world as one of the greatest victories of the national liberation movement and progressive humanity in the 20th century.

However, in the past few days, Father Dang Huu Nam, Parish Priest of Phu Yen (An Hoa Commune, Quynh Luu District) has engaged in subversive activities such as: taking advantage of parishioners marching and protesting outside the church grounds, taking advantage of sermons in the church to distort and falsify history, insulting the honor and dignity of millions of Vietnamese people who have sacrificed their lives to protect the independence and freedom of the nation. The plots and actions of Father Dang Huu Nam have denied the revolutionary achievements of the Party, the nation and our people, causing resentment and anger among the people and dividing the great national unity bloc, causing insecurity and disorder in the area.
More dangerously, Father Dang Huu Nam took advantage of the children and teenagers to stand in the hot sun for many hours, displaying banners and slogans as a cover for his evil and dirty actions, stuffing unhealthy perceptions and thoughts into the children's minds. These actions seriously violated the Vietnamese constitution and laws, and violated the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Priest Dang Huu Nam preached: “Do any of us know what the spirit of the August Revolution is?... The spirit of the August Revolution is the spirit of robbery, robbery of power, robbery of land, robbery of property, robbery of people's wives and children, and today we see robbery of human rights”... These are despicable words, ungrateful to his ancestors, ungrateful to his own parents, brothers, relatives and neighbors, because he did not understand, or deliberately forgot, the brutality, inhumanity, and crimes that the colonialists, imperialists and their lackeys had inflicted on the Vietnamese people.
Then recently at 5:00 p.m. on April 30, 2017 at Phu Yen parish church (An Hoa commune), priest Dang Huu Nam preached again: “After the event of 1945, the Vietnamese communist government seized power, freedom, honor and human dignity; April 30 is a day of mourning for the nation and the parish, after the events of 1954 and 1975 when the parishioners had to separate, some went to the North, some went to the South, some lived, some died…”, “April 30 is the day when the Vietnamese people lost their freedom; the day when the Vietnamese people did not have the right to be human; the day that made the country mourn; the day that made the country backward and poor; the day that Vietnam lost the opportunity to develop; the day that created injustice in all parts of the country; the day that marked the Vietnamese people preparing to enter slavery to foreign countries; April 30 is the darkest day of the Vietnamese people”… Dang Huu Nam's words and actions have seriously offended the honor and dignity of millions of Vietnamese people who heroically fought and sacrificed to protect the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
As Veterans - On behalf of those who directly fought for independence, freedom and peace for the country, representing over 173,000 veteran members of Nghe An province, we strongly condemn and oppose the serious violations of the law by priest Dang Huu Nam. We affirm that Dang Huu Nam's words and actions are completely fabricated and untrue, showing his reactionary, opposing, trampling and denying nature of the revolution of the Party, of our nation and people. The above words have caused outrage among the masses, especially us Veterans.

Official dispatch of Nghe An Provincial Veterans Association. |
Before the actions of priest Dang Huu Nam, we request:
1.Mr. Dang Huu Nam must strictly comply with Vietnamese law, properly perform his duties as a pastor, representing God in preaching doctrine and canon law in the parish he is responsible for. Immediately stop all acts of sabotage, incitement, and enticement of parishioners to violate the law, causing disorder, insecurity, and social safety, and dividing the great national unity bloc in the area. Apologize to veterans in general, and to the people and veterans of An Hoa commune, Quynh Luu district in particular, for his statements distorting and defaming history, denying the revolutionary achievements that many generations of Vietnamese people have shed so much effort, blood, and tears to achieve the victory day of April 30, 1975.
2.Propose that the Government, central ministries and branches work with the Vatican and the Vietnam Bishops' Council to clarify and condemn the illegal acts of priest Dang Huu Nam.
3.We request that authorities at all levels take resolute measures to promptly prevent all reactionary activities and take measures to deal with Dang Huu Nam before the law. We see that all of Dang Huu Nam's activities and words have sufficient evidence to prosecute before the law.
4.The President of the Vietnamese Bishops' Council and the Archbishop of the Hanoi Archdiocese need to direct the Vinh Diocese to prevent priest Dang Huu Nam from continuing to repeat the above misconduct.
5.Mr. Nguyen Thai Hop, Bishop of Vinh Diocese, Chairman of the Justice and Peace Committee of the Vietnam Bishops' Conference; Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh, Administrator of Thuan Nghia, Chairman of the Justice and Peace Committee of Vinh Diocese, need to take measures to prevent the illegal acts of priest Dang Huu Nam. With their positions, they are the ones who understand better than anyone in the diocese the meaning and value of peace, independence, and freedom in the past, allowing priest Dang Huu Nam to engage in subversive activities without being punished. Could it be that they did not know or did they assist, direct, and "give the green light" to the above violations of priest Dang Huu Nam (as Dang Huu Nam declared to parishioners at Phu Yen Church on May 1, 2017).
Previously, on April 28, the Provincial Veterans Association in collaboration with the Provincial Police launched the Veterans Club for maintaining security and order in An Hoa commune with 133 members participating. In the near future, this model will be expanded to contribute to ensuring security and order in the province. On the afternoon of May 1, 2017, in the face of false preaching, insulting and trampling on the historical values of the Southern Liberation Day of April 30, 1975, the Veterans Association at all levels of Quynh Luu district met, strongly spoke out, and passed a Resolution on protesting against Mr. Dang Huu Nam, the parish priest of Phu Yen, An Hoa commune, including 4 points: We strongly protest against Mr. Dang Huu Nam, the parish priest of Phu Yen; request Mr. Dang Huu Nam to stop his activities of distorting and defaming the revolutionary history of April 30, 1975; request the law to handle Mr. Dang Huu Nam fairly; we request Mr. Dang Huu Nam to apologize to the people and war veterans of An Hoa commune, war veterans of Quynh Luu district in particular and war veterans and people nationwide for his words and actions distorting the history and traditions of April 30 of the Vietnamese people. |
Speaking to Nghe An Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Minh, Chairman of the Provincial Veterans Association, said that the Association has requested that grassroots associations organize rallies similar to those in An Hoa commune (Quynh Luu) to protest against the distorted and untrue statements of priest Dang Huu Nam about the day of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975). "This week, Veterans Associations of communes in Quynh Luu will organize rallies. Then, associations in the entire province will follow," said Mr. Minh.
